Tourney Play !!

Was that tourney play or in the AZB room? And who is DRW anyhooo?

Joey A took home the cheeze from our 11:30PM blind draw 4 man tourney and I heard him muttering something about the price of shingles

I can tell you that there are some people from AZB shooting some damn good stick in both the room and the tourney ,quite a few actually still in the tournament and also in the AZB room these guys are not armchair generals in any way ,they are walking the walk and talking the talk not a slouch in the bunch ! Except for me lololol

Its getting hard to keep track of everyones achievements as I do not know who is keeping track of such things (if any one ?) More and more people are arriving daily and I can see that there should be more people here to relate the action here as time goes on !!

Ratchet - Running too short on funds to stay much longer but I imagine some one will pick up where I leave off and do quite nicely ...I was supposed to leave yesterday but wanted to make sure sodapop D's situation was Ok first .. I adopted him the other day lolol ...he is not only a good kid and great guy but also a U.S. Marine ...Semper Fi my friend.........

Red letter day for AZB with more to come

Thanks for all the reports,Tom. Tell Joey that I wish him well in the tournament. Marines are very adaptable,so remember, never get between a Marine and his food & drink.(put a large "Keep Roving Reporter Ratchet" tip jar in the AzB room and solicit the $$$$$ to extend your stay.....imo)

Joey and I just left the room for the evening( 11:30 ish ) as our long day is winding down , I will try to relay your message , Joey is and has been kicking butt in not only the AZ room but in the tourney as well yes he has taken a few lumps like a few other AZer's here but what the heck with what hes been through I would call him a success story in the face of adversity. I need to replace some references to SodaPop D's plight here as a typo it is not him I have spoken about but one of our newer posters who has referred to himself here as "Goin' Pro In '07" altho SodaPop D has had his share of problems which I expect he will refer to later as he gets the and heals up and pays his speeding ticket !! My bad for the mixup :( just insert right name where applicable in my past references .

Today has been nonstop action in the AZB room with duel appearances by my main man Stefano Pelinga ! , He showed up unannounced somewhere around 11:00 or 12 noon and just hung out chatting it up with the gang all the while a beaming smile on the face of a man who was obviously enjoying himself too..
He hung around for a few hours before he split but not before scheduling a show for us later in the afternoon at 5:00 p.m. and was still there BS'ing
When reknown BCA instructor Tom Simpson to give his scheduled hour long Jump Shot clinic at 2 p.m. Tom and Stefano then wowed us with some jump shots using Tom's jump cue called a stinger in which there was no competition to when stacked up beside a few other jumpers including my Lucasi , I can do some pretty high jumps repeatedly with mine which is a lighter cue than his , Although I can jump fairly well accuracy (for me ) is lost in the execution ! With Tom Simpsons jumper I needed less exertion and seemingly was able to gain more accuracy within the few times I tried although I still need more practice in my aiming but was able to start feeling it come around with each time I tried it ...I know that Toms cue is much better than what I have and would recommend it to the fledgling and accomplished jumper alike ....

While Tom was finshing up and Stefano was still there kicking back, our gracious host Mr. Greg Sullivan made an appearance to further add to the revelry in the room . Greg shared some insight with us as an industry insider and host extraordinaire and seems to be really impressed with AZB's participation so far at the DCC but seems to really value our opinions and insights and wants us to be there in the future DCC's to come..

Ratchet - tired and typed out , more juicy news later ....ZzZzZzZz

My Bank's results.. I got to play Truman Hogue

I got a chance to play in the banks division this year and had an absolute blast doing it. I only won 1 match but I drew a champion in the first round and played quite well considering..

My first match was against Truman Hogue, "the legend". This man is an exceptional player and a great guy.
*First game he beat me 5 to 0. I could not have played worse that game but I started breathing and tried to relax after that.
*Second game, I relax and he makes a couple of scratching error and I beat him 5 to -1
*Third game he wins 5-4
*Fourth game he wins 5-3 and puts me out with a beautiful 4 rail bank to the corner.

I won my second match 3-1 against Ed Ames

Last match, I played some gentleman that plays with Truman a lot and he spanked me 3-1. I forget his name.

The highlights of the tourney were playing Truman and playing respectably. Meeting several AZ'ers JoeyA, SodaPopD, Ratchet, SarahRousey, Girl1??, AliceRim, SatMan, 1Proscoe, Willebetmore and several others. Also meeting many of the pros and watching the Banks ring Game. I will play in the DCC from here on out if I can.

What a fantastic event. Thanks Greg S and all that make it happen.

I was playing my first match right beside you. I think that you were actually scheduled to play on the same table(#40). There was a couple of guys that had a marathon match that threw everything off a little on that table. Truman's a tough draw. I drew him several years ago, and lost 3-0 in about 5 minutes. I think that I had 2 innings per game. STRAIGHT BACK... BAM!!

I'm not sure of what position I finished in, but I was knocked out in round 5 of the banks. Got back 100 bucks.

Wow good start to the tourney, good luck with the rest of it, nice to cash in from the get go.
