How long has this forum been up and running? There is a lot of educated, talented, motivated, and very helpful posts on here. I've been to a few other forums and they don't even come close to the level of this forum. :D
I personally want to thank each and everyone of the members who post here for keeping things flowing and not dying off, keeping the respect for others (99% of the time), and for all of the tips and advice given by the more experienced players and cue makers. It's amazing how you can fix your game by what a cue maker says and how you can improve your cue making skills by what a player says. Everyone is sharing their experiences and knowledge with everyone on the forum. I have noticed a lot of networking being accomplished thru AZBilliards. That is something I think our sport of cueing needs.
GREAT JOB AND KEEP THE POSTS ROLLING STRAIGHT!
Thanks,
Michael Zimmerman "Zim"

I would also like to do the same as Michael. If it wasn't for this site and the information I have goten off of it my level of play would be much lower then what it is now. My next purchase will also be coming off of this site Blackjacks new book he has come out with. ( ball and 1-pocket are my stronger games that i play and his book should help me alot in 9 Ball. I have met many knoweledgeable people on this site and people that are dedicated to the game. I actually purchased a custom cue from one of the members on this site. The cue was not made by him but i purchased it through his site. http://www.zimsrack.com Michael has been wonderful to work with and I look forward to doing business with him in the future. Also i would like to personally thank Fast Larry for being an understanding person and as well as being very helpful with the info on his site. Blackjack for his diagrams and articles on the game in general they have been very helpful. and anyone else who has helped me improve my game. Keep up the good work and we will keep coming back.

I have gotten a lot of help here too. I am not as experienced as most people here but I like the sport.Tthough it may not show in this internet style where I throw something up unedited, I am a freelance writer.(why I post too much I guess) The stuff I have written for people or organizations to date has been for free so not nearly at the level of David , but then I do not have his knowlege,LOL

And I do not think that I can ever thank Chuck or Mike enough times for what they are doing to keep this a clean, informative site.

To answer Zim's question, the site itself has been running for about 5 years now.

We switched to this forum software a few months ago though. The old forums were using the same software that playpool.com uses, and I thought it needed some structure.

I am glad to hear that the forums are useful to people. That is the whole idea.

Thanks guys,

Mike

Very nice job SIR. Impressive.........I like the adult manner that everyone tries to conduct here. And truly ran by people intersted in Billiards and read by people interested in Billiards too. It is nice to read others thoughts on subjects and views...........no matter if agreeded with or not. And the pics are neat too!

this board doesn't get out of hand, and any squabble seems to get resolved quickly by the participating sqablees.

we're civilized here:):):)

You wanna know how sweet this forum is? THE Earl Strickland has written a post above this one!!!! You can't beat that!!

You know what? When I started this site 5 years ago, it was going to be devoted to local Arizona billiards. If someone had told me then that Earl Strickland would be saying something like that about the site one day, I would have told them they were on drugs.

Thanks Earl

I love it when people like earl and charlie can post here and are given the respect they deserve as pros. I have seen them butchered and driven away on other sites. Sad really but glad they too have a safe place to post and we benefit from their knowlege..

I haven't been here long but it's not hard to tell that this forum is very informative. You can receive advice from everyone from beginners to the current World Champion, how cool is that?!!!!!

I agree, it's amazing how many different points of view you will see on one subject. Evan us pool players were giving our views about "Tiger Woods", haha!! I want to thank Earl and Charlie for taking the time to atleast say hello and drop a line occassionally, some of us know how hectic your days can be and then again some of us have no clue! It's nice to the the "big guys" pay attention to us "little guys" once in a while.
Once again, GREAT JOB MIKE ON THE WEBSITE AND THANKS!

Hey Mike, Now you know I have to put my 25 cents into this topic.
There is NO other website out that is this informative. This is most definatly the best website regarding billiards and billiard related subjects.

Mike is always there when you need a hand and truly cares about what is going on with this industry. He spends countless hours working to make this the best, (and it is the best).

We need more people in like Mike in top positions in the billiard industry.

Thanks for all you do!

I have to agree with most of the posts above, this website is fantastic! I come to this site every time I get on the computer. I love all the tournament news and the great advice given freely by the other posters such as Blackjack, Larry and Blud just to name a few. Others have given great info on cue care, recommendations on what what the best cues are out there, and you name it, if it has to do with billiards or golf (I couldn't resist), you couldn't find a better site. Given all of that, someone, and I guess that would be Mike, deserves a whole bunch of credit. Bigtime thanks from me Mike!!!! If I ever get a chance to meet you, I'd definitely consider it an honor if I could buy you a beer, a steak or veggies or whatever works best for you!! YOU DA MAN!!

Maybe, but some of us dont get to see them .

If you are not allowed to correct obvious mistakes , the whole integrity of the site becomes suspect . Delete the abusive posts , I,m all for that ,but lets have an honest debate .

I thought you had freedom of speech in America . Or doesnt this site count?

"freedom is the right to say something stupid and the right for others to correct you on it ".
This is how we learn .

Mike has been hard at work for years. When I had my One Pocket tour in Florida, he was right on top of current scores and results, calling me hourly on his own dime! Watched him at the US Open work day-n-night to keep the world informed. Hat's off to ya man...takes a special person.

Paco, I am all for honest debate. It is when the thread just becomes name calling, that I think it is out of hand. You can tell someone all you want how much you don't agree with their opinion and why. You just can't tell them they are an idiot for having that opinion.

Mike

AZ Billiards is not only the best Forum but is also the most up-to-date resource on the internet for tournament play, current news and the billiard industry in general. The brackets are great when major tournaments are taking place and I agree it is great to have Earl taking time out of his busy schedule to post.

I really have just started reading the colums and am discovering everything that is on the azbilliards site, which I am enjoying.

As a person with very little experience at pool, I think that lots of my questions or comments seem dumb to people who have been in the sport a long time. It is nice to feel safe. Even if someone says something, it is usually pretty polite.

One time I was at this one site (not CCB either as a disclaimer) and they were talking about hitting frozen rail shots with outside english. I asked why and I got a really rude answer.

I don't get that rudeness here and it is really nice.
