Azer helping azer

I just wanted to share this story. This is the type of things i have experienced around the country with other azers.

It's just amazing how many nice genuine downright good people there are in this pool world of ours.

About 5 months ago when i got back from on the road i got a call from a fellow azer that calls himself irock.

He came to my residence in eau claire for a lesson and it seemed he understood it pretty good. Perfect aim that is.

About a week ago i got a message from irock telling me he wanted to take advantage of the phone offer to give the perfect aim lesson over the phone with the new improved methods. He said he just had some questions.

I told him to call me and we would set up a time.

The next day i get a message from irock. I've been looking for a motorhome for the last 4 months and been kind of looking for a deal. Money right now is a little tight.

During our messages i must have told irock that i was looking for a motorhome. He sent me a message directing me to this motorhome that was for sale for 1500. At first i thought what can you get for 1500.

Having found this motorhome i called the lady and she said that someone was coming in the morning to look at it. I thought to myself, i need to get down there tonight. It was already 3:00.

I called about 4 friends and everyone was tied up. The drive to hillsboro, wi from my house is about 120 miles.

Then i thought irock lives right on the way. I could stop there in person and work with him on the perfect aim and maybe he could go to hillsboro with me in case i bought the rv we could drive it to his house. That way when i come back down the next day i would save about 100 miles.

I asked irock and it was not even a maybe. He said sure. Hillsboro was about 50 miles it turned out to be from his house. It was fun talking pool and a few other things. Then when we got there he even helped wheel and deal a little and i ended up buying the rv for 1300. It's not perfect a 1982 but i could probably sell it tommorow for 3500. That's a deal.

Irock drove the rv and i drove my van. Ducking deer all the way there and all the way back.

When we got to irocks house he showed me his little piece of heaven. A lttle building that looks like it was just made to play pool in. An oldtime pooltable with drop pockets just like what i learned to play straight pool on when i was about 18. Tv and videos. It was just perfect.

We went to work on the new techniques that i use now to teach perfect aim and it became real clear in a matter of minutes that irock had it down.

In fact i think he understands it so well he could probably start teaching it.

The trip turned out to be a success all the way around.

I wish we could have played some pool but i'm totally in a sling for about 8 weeks after my shoulder surgery.

I had a great 2 days, got a great deal on a motorhome, got to talk pool and that's almost as good as playing and just got to hang out with a really good guy.

If i told all the stories of azers helping me on my trip i would be typing for a week. Irock was no exception. And when i could i always help back everywhere i go.

It might take awhile but it always seems like you get back more than what you give.

But the real true goodness in a person is when you do something for someone and you have nothing really to gain by it except just being able to help out someone else.

Then you really did something good.

I just wanted to share this little story.

Thanks again irock you got one coming your way.

And i want to thank every azer, you all know who you are , that i met and gave lessons to sometimes in your homes and sometimes at the poolrooms.

You all made me feel right at home away from home which is really nice to have when your traveling for 7 8 months at a time.
