Just Wondering Who Is Going To Be At The Turning Stone Next Month. What A Great Tourney It Is. I Was There Last Feb And It Was One Of The Best I Have Ever Been To. I Am Making The Trip From New Brunswick.

Hi, DUOBIS! :) I'm planning on going, sent in an entry fee for Keith, and as Hillbilly would say, the good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be there for sure. :p

I really like the Turning Stone. I've been there twice now, and each time, the accommodations were luxurious and very comfortable. I'd have been tickled pink to hang out in the room, but it never seems to work out that way for me. The rooms we stayed in were exquisite. I'm definitely bringing some comfortable shoes again because I do remember traversing quite a bit from the tournament room to the casino games. February was a mighty lucrative month for my camp, thanks to the crap tables! The pit bosses were so very nice and accommodating! :D

The story of this tournament was all about local champion Steve Tavernier from Providence, Rhode Island, who plays out of Snookers Cafe. He steamrolled his way through this event and really put on a great performance for the spectators.

Here's my picture page link from the Joss tournament in February of last year at the Turning Stone: http://hometown.aol.com/railbirdjam/jossturningstone.html

It's hard to believe a year has gone by already since this tournament! I'm not sure why the background music in this link is so mopey, but it must have been my mood at the time I created it. :p

I wanted to add my other picture page link of the 2005 Joss Tour Season Finale which occurred this past August: http://hometown.aol.com/jamalloy/2005JossSeasonFinale.html

The charismatic Francisco Bustamante snapped this one off in a tension-filled finals with New York State's Finest, Dennis Hatch. Dennis had quite a bit of the hometeam crowd rooting for him, pulling him in, and he played like a well-oiled machine. Not an easy feat for a working man, BTW, one who can't devote his life to pool, 24/7. The veteran tournament player, Bustamante, was calm as a cucumber all the way to the finish line.

The Turning Stone tournament room was awesome. Nobody could believe it, to include the FREE admission. I kind of enjoyed the FREE bottled water available to all, too. There wasn't a bad view in the house either. The Turning Stone staff were very pool-friendly, many of them sweating the matches on their breaks. ;)

I'd love to make it again but with Valley Forge less than a month away from this and the fact that I have a wife and kids who are understanding, but not that understanding :D , I'm gonna have to sit this one out.

Looking forward to the action reports though and yes, it is a great venue and I would highly recommend anyone in the area to go check it out.
