AZer's that have Josey Cues

I received this cue from Keith a week ago, and thought I would post the pics here. These are from Keith, and are a bit dark...but I have been so busy playing with this cue non-stop, that I haven't paused to take my own pics yet.:o

Fit and finish on this cue is amazing! The cue is extremely solid feeling in the hand...literally feels like a one piece cue. All inlays are perfectly aligned in relation to one another...even some nice rings at the butt and joint. My new favorite joint...wood/wood with a Radial pin.:D

I am absolutely in love with this cue, and would highly, highly recommend one of Keith's 'uber-fancy' sneaky petes as an alternative to a higher end cue!!:D :D

Lisa

VERY NICE Lisa.

How's the balance? I like forward balanced and have heard his cues really fit the bill.

> I can't see the pics posted by SCC. If that even resembles the original ivory/turquoise monster that Tony had,I want pics. I hit some balls with it one night in Memphis for about 20 minutes and never missed a ball with it,it was automatically sending the cue ball exactly where you sent it. Tommy D.

Lisa, very nice cue.

We have brother/sister cues now :D Yours is slightly more fancy than mine near the handle area.

I can't wait to get my cues back from Keith!!!

Here's a couple.....one belonging to my buddy, Jeff, and one that is stolen and somewhere out there.

Keith's radial jointed cues have a wonderful hit. Skins, you are right. I think many have been wanting to see Keith's work in more of a traditonal, sharp-pointed cue setup. Think that will open up a whole new avenue of buyers for him !!

Glad I was able to breathe new life into this thread. :D

Yep, the cue definitely has a forward balance to it. And, if I am not mistaken, and I am sure 'skins' will correct if I am...Lol, there is no weight bolt. Makes for a VERY solid feeling cue. If you like STIFF, these cues are the way to go! I feel that for the amount of work you get in these cues, they are an extremely good value, and from what I have seen, hold their resale very well.

Jazz...I am very impressed with the finish he uses on these cues. Very hard and durable, and polishes up with a quick wipe down. As to having brother/sister cues....yep, very happy to have gotten the ebony, as they may be on the 'endangered species' list before long from Keith's shop.

Timing was everything with this cue. I had a line on a lovely cocobolo one, but it 'got away'. ;) I contacted Keith about making one, and he sent me some pics of what he currently had available...I got a sneak preview of the traditional pointed cues before 'skins' unveiled them here...and there was a cocobolo s/p, and this one next to it...it was love at first sight! The design element just 'flowed' throughout. Got lucky with the high figure of the BEM nose.:D Plus I got lucky to get an unweighted ebony in a lighter weight @ 19.35 oz. Plus, Keith was nice enough to change the tip out for me to a Moori M, (from the normal Triangle), at no-charge.:)

Keith and Sherri are a true pleasure to deal with, and very easy to talk to...it is not hard to find yourself just chatting away...Lol. And from the pics of his new traditional pointed cues, it shows me that he is keeping his fingers on the pulse of what some collectors are looking for. All I know is, the cues play incredibly well.

And Sean...that one Josey you have has some of THE curliest curly maple I have ever seen in a cue!! That one is gorgeous!! Cannot figure out why it has not sold yet!

And, I really need to thank 'skins' here. He was able to answer questions for me, and explain to me why he feels that Keith's cues are one of THE best playing cues around. Having to part with the Skip was a very tough decision, but acquiring this Josey s/p certainly made the loss a bit easier to take...it is certainly the 'silk purse' in what was a 'sow's ear' situation.:D

Curly's Josey!

I have been slackin'. Curly sent me these pics of his beautiful Josey earlier this week, and I told him I would get them posted for him here. I needed to crop the pics to make them fit, and I sharpened them up a bit.

Now, for your viewing pleasure, Curly's lovely cocobolo Josey:D :

Great cue- I wonder what something like that goes for. I had a Josey sneaky that I really enjoyed and I was thinking about picking up another Josey in 07.

Just picked up a bacote and satinwood sneaky pete and I have to admit, that thing plays great. I love the feel and it moves the bad with easy. Solid, firm hit.

No idea, but, you could always email or call Keith and Sherri:

I don't have any pics, but I have a Cocobolo sneaky w/ spear tips - Josey 2003.

After Christmas I am planning on ordering a Cocobolo base w/ holly points (probably just 4), with turquoise inlays in the spear tips of the points...

I have always had Cocobolo cues and loved the look and feel of them. But, I was curious about Ebony so I ordered a SW-03 with holly and turquoise inlays from Keith when I was at the US Open in Sept. I also ordered the shafts with ivory ferrules. Keith does great work and also is good to deal with. A local player here bought one of his cues many years ago and will only let Keith do work on his cue...tips etc. He has alot of respect for Keiths work. I will get my new Josey sneaky in a month or so and really looking forward to it.

Thanks. I don't recall exactly what I paid for it but Josey made it in 2001 and not sure what his prices today are for a cue like that. It's worth contacting Keith and discussing what you'd want in the cue and then he could give you an accurate price. I have played with it about half the time alternating with my Lambros which is more butt balanced than the Josey. I prefer the forward balance more but the Lambros plays very well too. The Josey is still like new with Josey's really durable finish and workmanship. I never regret buying it and even placed an order with Keith for a SW-03 Ebony sneaky at the US Open last Sept and will get it in a month or so.

Ebony Josey cue

I've owned a couple of Keith's cues and I wish I still owned this cue because it was one of the best playing cues that i've ever had.

Nice cue! Golly, I hate regrets...perhaps one day it will find it's way back to you.:)

Lisa
I let a friend talk me into selling the cue to him in a weak moment and i've regretted selling it as much as any i've ever parted with. The cue just felt great playing with it and it looked as good as it played. What a mistake I made, but life goes on and the last I heard was that the cue went to Taiwan so the odds of me getting it back are slim.
