I just wanted to announce that the top local website for Billiards & Pool news in Arizona has joined forces with the top Billiards Newspaper in the state.

AZPoolScene.com and Valley Billiards News together will cover everything pool and billiard related which is a huge win for Arizona Pool.

YUP the Valley Billiards News broke that story last week.

It's a great deal for everyone. We will each be able to divide and conquer the entire pool scene. Cover more stories, get more information, etc.

We'll also be doing some things with the Desert Classic Tour, the AWBT, Lenny and Steve at OntheRailTV.com, etc. etc. Including some league information and smaller monthly tournaments.

I purposely waited on making the announcement until his paper made it's way to all it's customers.

Well keep hoping you will add a complete Tournament Guide to you site, list al the weekly Tournaments in the State. But I have kind of give up on that ever happening, as all you got is this for a Tiny Wennie Tournament Guide.

Honestly Stuckart you can not be as you say ?Arizona?s #1 Source for Arizona pool, and Billiards Info? with out a complete Tournament Guide IMHO.

BTW Jumbos in Glendale Arizona, Not Glendale Cali

just added a bunch of POOL TABLES, and EXPANDED their Sports Bar, and is good NEWS for the West Side.

Unfortunately it's extremely hard to list all the small weekly tournaments and maintain them on a daily basis.

I have looked at the tournament guide that has been listed at the back of the billiard & dart & porn news and most of those tournaments are 'Hopes' of each establishment. Most never get any people, and therefore never run. And for all those places they try and change the format all the time. For example, The Sets in Tempe, is listed as running all kinds of tournaments on different nights, and the reality is that they don't have tournaments at all, besides the AZPL League tournaments.

Factor that in with the hundreds of small bars around the state running 1 or 2 table tournaments through-out the week, and you have yourself a maintanence nightmare.

On AZPoolScene.com we have listed the larger tournaments. Monthly's, Tours, Big $$$ Added's, etc. And of course it's tiny, we are only keeping a 2 month rolling calendar at this point of the year. Once 2009 schedules start popping, we'll have all the main tournaments listed.

Is Jimbo's now open and running tournaments on the expanded room? I heard about this in April, and almost lost hope that they were still going to do it, with the economy and all. They had to wait until the hair salon moved out.

The story I heard from the OWNER was it was a "PERMIT" hold up. that is BULLS**T IMHO, as bigger means more sales, + More Tax Dollars to the City of Glendale. One would think the City would work with a Business Owner who potentially would be coughing up more $$ to the City of Glendale in Sales Tax?

Jimbo?s also now has a NEW Smoking Patio kind of like the one at METRO Sports BAR king of.

Maybe you should go check it out Stuckart as they have an OPEN 8 BAll on Tuesdays for 10 BUCKS. Maybe with the Expanded Tables, Randy (thre owner)will have more Nightly Tournaments?

I stopped into Jimbo's last night and snapped a few photo's. The patio of right off the pool room door, so that will be very nice. I was disappointed that they only have 5 tables in there now. With that space they should of been able to put 6 in that room alone, plus 2 around the corner where they had the original ones. With 8 tables they could have held some great events.

I did like the Poker Style Pub Tables they have throughout!

And they have a nice 64 DE chart on the wall to run some great touraments. Let's hope they do that soon.

Congrats!

Both good guys....should work great together! Both doing a big service to Az. players...THANKS!!

Good observation, but the thing I noticed is the traffic flow when people are coming and going during tournament play, could get tight, and than you also have the flow of smokers who will want out to smoke, again disturbing the pool player.

Well Randy the Owner of Jimbo's is a pretty smart owner, and i will assume with the addition of table, he will be doing more Pool things. The unique thing about Jimbo's is it is always busy, and that say something about the owner being able to fill his bar, when other are struggling.

Now all Randy needs to do is advertise the the fact that he has expanded, and maybe take an advertisement in a paper that is shall we say more Pool orientated, unlike the Dr. J's Party People Rag he advertise in.

Stuckart I heard from a relaible source there will be no more, Valley Billiards News yesterday. Is that true? Paper is gone, and history?
