B+ Tournament in Boston

B+ tournament at Napoles Billiards in East Boston:

18 players

3 groups of 6 to 20 pts

top 2 from each group advance + 2 3rd place finishers.


Eight players in finals,

2 groups of 4 playing double elimination.

Top 4 players will play single elimination to 25 points.


Top 8 players from prelims:

1) Joe DeAmato
2) Jim Shovak
3) Bob Page
4) Joe Costa
5) John Gomez (local player)
6) Norman Zuluaga (local player)
7) Tony Ferrara
8) Leonard Collibee
 
B+ tournament results

In the finals, it was double elimination:

Round 1:
Joe DeAmato defeated Lenny Collibee
Jim Shovak defeated Tony Ferrara
John Gomez defeated Jose Costa
Bob Page defeated Norman Zuluaga.

Round 2:
Jim Shovak defeated Bob Page putting Shovak into the final 4.
Joe DeAmato defeated John Gomez putting DeAmato into the final 4.
Jose Costa defeated Lenny Collibee knocking Collibee (7th place) out of the final 4.
Tony Ferrara defeated Norm Zuluaga (8th place) knocking Norm out of the final 4.

Round 3:
Bob Page defeated Tony Ferrara. Ferrara (6th place) is knocked out of the final 4. Bob Page advances to the final 4.

Jose Costa defeats John Gomez. Gomez (5th place) is knocked out of the final 4. Costa advances to the final 4.

Semi-Finals (Single Elimination):

Bob Page defeats Joe DeAmato.
Jim Shovak defeats Joe Costa.


Finals:

Joe DeAmato (3rd place) defeats Joe Costa (4th place).

Bob Page (1st place) defeats Jim Shovak (2nd place).

Jim, It sounds like a great tournament.!I was wondering if the averages were compiled for us to look at or maybe the winning average or high run? I know as a new player and many of the Azers are always interested in having more information.---- Thanks, Dan
 
Congratulations Jim. You just got under the wire before the mandatory drug testing zero tolerance policy takes effect.:grin:
