Introducing Al Babin knew to most, but well known in the Connecticut area, making cues and doing repairs for the past 15 years.he has have been making cues not only for beauty, but to be outstanding players. Most important a solid hit with response and feedback and never feels heavy or light with perfect balance. He cores most cues for stability against warping. I also experimented with a wood for shafts called Hornbeam, which has growth rings as high 75 to the inch. It has tremendous tinsel strength and creates a shaft with very little vibration. This same wood is used for axe handles and oxen yokes. When you hit a ball with this shaft you will find out what L.D really means. A normal shaft made from Hornbeam weighs in at 5 ounces which makes for a forward hitting cue. You can order this shaft with your choice of taper for less then a Predator costs. I will post some of his cues weekly in the Cue and Case gallery to show some of his designs. He strives to create the beauty of fine woods and burls. Cues by Al Babin 860 796 0230

Nice looking cue, Very nice figure.
But I must admit to a little confusion, you are introducing Babin as a person that builds the cues, then you say you core and build them..., are you him? If so, your only allowed one account on here, and Babin already has an account under newguy99. I noticed that your sentence structure is very similar to his...like, exactly like his. No offence meant, just want everything to be on the right side of things.

I live approx. an hour or so from plainville and haven't heard of him or his cues. If possible, I wouldn't mind stopping by to visit his shop someday soon if he allows that. I would like to host him to mine also...if interested, (it's very small but works for me:o).

Sorry about the confusion, I was helping him with photographs and placing the thread and forgot it would be on my thread. I edited most and didn't catch that one. Thanks for the heads up. Please call him and make an appointment. Larry

In the interest of assisting Larry732 a bit here and AL Babin, who I know by phone conversation only, AL does build what appears to me to be a nice cue. I'm going to attach some pictures of the one I had and took to the pool room to help AL get some exposure. EVERYONE that hit with it liked the hit and the appearance. AL picked the right user name for himself. He is a little clumsy about forum etiquette (and punctuation) and his posts reflect that.

Can't attach the pictures from here. Do that in a few minutes.

Not Email Replies from Babin

I heard about Babin cues and Al few months ago. Looks like he makes very good playing cues. I sent two emails to him regarding some cue repair and interest to buy a new cue. he has not replied yet. I used CustomCueParts@gmail.com email id. Not sure if this is normal.
