Back hand english

<<<Well said - there isn't an easy answer like "just" backhand english.
A few quibbles with your definitions. Throw takes place even if there is no side spin on the cue ball. This is called "contact induced throw" by some.

Swerve moves the cue ball through the same angle regardless of shot speed, but the curve will be "out farther" at higher speed. If you shoot slightly towards a cushion with enough swerve that the cue ball ends up moving parallel to the cuahion, it doesn't matter what speed you shoot at -- the ball will move parallel to the cushion at the end, unless you shoot so hard the ball doesn't have time to stop curving. Also, the total angle change is independent of the slipperiness of the cloth, but a slippery cloth gives a wider arc on any particular shot.

Swerve is the same action as masse, except it's less extreme. Robert Byrne explains this in his "Advanced" book along with a system for aiming masse shots.

Attached pics are Busta and Efren at last week's Japan Cup.

Busta's ferrule looks long.

Who know's what Efren is using here? What is the black ferrule made out of?

Pics coutesy of http://www.ibcjapancup.com/photo-3.html

Check also -1, -2 and -4 estensions for more pics.
Busta's pic looks like an Ivor-X ferrule. Edwin Bandido Reyes here can verify as he made that shaft for Busti. Edwin can tell by the joint collar if it's his shaft ( he made two for Busti).
That's Efren's Andy brand break-jump cue. It has a black ferrule.
