I use to loosen up some rooms when questioned about my intentions.
I would tell them that I wasn't no Lear jet player flyin' around the country with 4 stakehorses,
a personal chef, and a valet.....but I would bet my money and pay cash....
...gotta bet my own 'cause no one was groggy enough to back me.

Many places liked that and we got it on...helped that I usually had fun when I gambled.

I saw a lot of great tournaments and a lot of great action in the room.

It took about an hour if you were lucky to get from my room in Toms River to Elizabeth.
So i only went there a few times.
One time i went to play in their weekly 9 ball tournament
Once i got there and saw the field I just paid the $3 to watch.
It was upstairs with stadium seating really nice.

And probably a few other champions.
I won $50 betting a guy on Balukas vs Jimmy Fusco,i had Jimmy.
 
Yeah people got played, I put them in games with several people, go take a nap and come back

and see how they did. Then step in the box myself. Very different back in the day, but my way was always

throw some decent players at them, watch and after hours of clocking their speed step up.

Wasn't a money maker by any means, but back then was an action junky.

Watch them roll over one guy, break even with the next and along comes me, 10 hours later to finish them off.

I liked my strategy, most of the time...but never played to get rich.
