How hard is it to get back where you where and how long does it take???

It all depends on how solid and familiar you were with your fundamentals, where your head is at, and how much you are now going to play. Answer you are seeking is a rack, to never. It's all within you. There is no pat answer to your question.

played for 20+ yrs and then quit for 15 yrs, can't seem to get it back but close, maybe 85% back but am an old guy now and do not have the stamina. still, in past 12 months won two 9 ball tournaments ans 2nd place 14.1. so it is not all bad. just seems harder this go round. good luck and hang in there.

Just got back from play. Ouch. I have a lot of work a head of me. Good thing i like to practice...

Here's are 3 tips:

1. Before playing in any match, focus on progressive straight in shots (further and further away).
If you know which side the OB is off (left or right of pocket), you can make manual adjustments when your brain says its perfect and before pulling the trigger. This little trick can improve your shooting success by 20-30%.

2. For dialing in your positioning skills, do some speed control exercises (cross side, once and a half, cross side lag; long table, once and a half, and standard lag).

3. And, of course, the standard - learn from your mistakes (THOROUGHLY THINK IT OUT). On any failed shot, figure out why, and then how you should have played it.
