Backpack strap for cue cases?

I actually have the sterling wave case (love it) and I prefer the one strap over my shoulder as apposed to 2 straps like a backpack. Guess I'm the opposite lol, I don't like how the case goes higher than my head, looks kinda weird like that.

A real man carries his cue case by the handle. Those that need backpack straps, may want to wear matching pink sneakers.

What's wrong with pink sneakers?

I think the backpack straps are great.especially when at events, expos, etc... Also, anyone considering ordering a custom case need look no further than John Barton. His cases are hands down the best out there and his newer mason cases are great. A good friend of mine owns the "PLAYHARD" case on his site and it is fantastic. I hope to someday have the money to own a Barton case ..I have owned other cases and they really just SUCK when next to a JB case..his interiors are FAR superior to any case available

True. They might be using the free hard case they got to ship the cues in. I have seen Efren's Justis with "fragile" stickers on it and airline barcode tags. But at events he sometimes carries a soft case around. www.jbcases.com

We do not give away "free" cases to the top players nor do we solicit anyone to use our product.

The financial benefit we receive by them choosing to carry our cases are sort of like them paying us retail plus 20%. So you see, its a win, win situation for us and the players.

And yes, some even baggage check Justis cases with their cues. It clearly demonstrates their trust in that our cases offer as much cue protection as needed without me having to say much about it.

So the all the players who use your cases pay you for them? I understand the benefit to you of course when any top player uses your case. And of course I am not entirely privy to whatever financial arrangements you make beyond what you have written on this forum.

I thought I remembered that you said you provide the cases at no cost to the players you sponsor. Are you now saying that they not only pay you but they pay essentially a 20% premium over your retail price for the right to be sponsored by you?

Well no wonder many of them choose NOT to use your case if they have to pay for them and get sore shoulders out of it.

As for checking the case as a piece of luggage that says three things to me.
1. Efren could care less about the case.
2. The cue inside is well built.
3. Efren, in this case is really lucky. :-)

maybe the big FRAGILE sticker helped a little. although some people say that is an invitation to rough handling.

but the fact remains that more padding is better than less padding. that is simply a known fact and any one who transports their valuable instruments in EVERY other field uses padded cases to hold their stuff, the more the better.

just take a quick trip around the Internet and you will find that the BEST cases in every field are super padded ones.

in any event since you finally beefed up the padding a little your interiors are certainly better than they were and I am getting less calls to provide upgrades to yours. so good for you that you finally started providing a better level of protection for your customer's cues.

I wouldn't lean too heavily on the "choice of champions" bit though. That can backfire when the champions make other choices.

You can set the straps so that the case does not ride so high. I also generally only use one side and stick the other strap in the pocket. But when I know I am going to be walking a lot I will use both and distribute the weight and keep my hands free.

If you're playing a tournament or walking to the pool hall, the single strap that cue cases have can get quite uncomfortable. Why hasn't anyone made cases with a backpack strap, or have I just never seen one? Golf bags used to be made with single straps, but now backpack straps are the norm and I'm surprised that the case makers haven't followed suite.

Personally, my pool room is located downtown surrounded by parking meters. I have to park 5 blocks away and walk down there to avoid having to run out and move my car every 2 hours. Backpack straps would make that walk more comfortable.

One year out in Vegas I saw this great backpack style strap for golf bags where the bag would carried horizontally. I thought it was the nuts and bought all that the store had to use on cue cases. I think I had 17 of them and they were about $50 each. I got them all for like $30 each.

Anyway, all well and good, they worked PERFECT for cue cases except for one tiny problem.

Carrying a cue case horizontally is an invitation to disaster as you bump into everyone and everything and knock over everything at ass-height. I think I sold three and two people came back to return them.........

:-(

In 1996ish I did make a backpack strap that was a single strap which split using a zipper. That was a pretty good one and we never did get around to producing them all the time.

Yeah I tried it with both straps again tn and I loved it, great case John.

You rarely see a single strap bag on a golf course anymore. Of course, now you don't have to go to the after market; bags all come with double straps.

And yeah, not a lot of obstacles when you're walking down the fairway.

When flying, I use a JB 4*8 case inside a velvet pouch provided by John.
The case is literally built like a tank and the pouch protects the leather from scratches on the conveyor belt. Can't see my cues getting any kind of damage inside the case. I highly recommend the JB cases. Reasonably priced and high quality built and design.

I have a lightweight butterfly case for actual carrying. It weighs less than a pound. With 2~3 cues and 4~5 shafts, the large case gets quite heavy.
