Unless they were really playing by the game this probably wouldnt be acceptable. Ive seen Clatterbuck before, he's a big fella this leads me to believe that somehow Matt was thankful enough to be up 2 games and didnt love the game so he let the other guy buyout. If it's a coin flip and after feeling it out you dont like it that much but your opponent likes it even less you should let a guy quit and be happy you left a winner.
