bad batch of Wizards?

All of the med Wizards I've installed were too hard for my taste. Many people like them though for a firmer tip.
I've only had one complaint on them about being too hard. They are the tip I've been using on my playing cue for over a year. They were my most installed tip, everyone around here loves them. Now I've installed 3 in the past couple days and all of them have been like a rock, and they are all from the latest batch I got. It sucks.
They are a cheap tip as far as layered tips go. There must be a reason that they can be made for one half or even one third of the better known layered tips. Apparently they save money by not having the same quality control. They are also a natural product, tanned leather, which is not like a batch of steel or a batch of plastic where the ingredients and production procedures can be strictly controlled.

Same here, all the ones I got about 6mo ago I am now using on break cues lol. Too many complaints about being too hard. I put one on my own cue and tore it off after ten minutes and three miscues. Don't know what all the hype was about.
Just an update. Last night I took and sanded the back on some of the tips, trying to determine by how they sanded if they were all hard or just some. Out of the 25 that I did, 11 seemed to sand harder than the others. I installed one of the softer ones last night, and it hits softer but not as soft as the one I originally replaced.
So I think I will need to go through all of them, and any new ones I get, and sort according to how they sand. I can use the harder ones on break cues for guys that don't want a samsara, but still want leather, or for the guys that like a harder tip.
