Bad Cushion

Not on a bar table. The way the rail cloth is installed is the first thing to check, because the rails are Ridgeback, therefore they were built correct, therefore the nose height would have been correct in the first place. So something else must be wrong. ALL Ridgeback rail blocks are made using the same molder, using the same cushions, and have a reputation for playing great, so nose height can't be the subject, there MUST be something else wrong.
Yes. All I said is nose height is the first thing I check. If that's right, I investigate other causes.

Ok, so you work on bar tables do you. Well then, when you recover a bar table, do you set the slate depth in the cabinet of the table before you drop the slate back in and finish putting the table back together again?

Do you have any pictures of the RIDGEBACK or Penguin rails you've installed the cloth on, if so, please post up.
Yes. We had to raise the slate on one at the Amvets.

We buy the Penguin rails uncovered and do it myself. I think I posted pics of them in one of your past threads.

ALL Valley slates need to be raise up to meet the bottom of the rails, unless they're recovered with the same factory cloth, in the exact same method.

rail that bounces funky on an older valley table? odds are it was sit on maybe? what needs to be done to fix?
I need more information that at this time, only you can supply, if you want to get down to the bottom of why the subject table isn't playing right. You can't start a help thread, then bail out of the questions being asked to provide you an accurate answers to your questions.

The usual cause of balls hopping is a low cushion nose. There are other causes, but this is the first suspect.

Get an adjustable square that measures to 1/32".

Measure the cushion nose height. Make sure it is between 1 3/8 and 1 7/16. Ideally, it should be between those two measurements... 1 13/32.
the other rails seem to measure the same height, just under the rail 1 6/8
