I was wondering about what had become of the promoter of the now de-funct 'Ultimate 10ball' event and i came across this letter dated 2013. First time i've seen it. Worth reading if you haven't. Much of what he said is still valid today imo. Anyone know Badi and what he may be up to these days? http://www.azbilliards.com/ultimate-ten-ball-championships-bridges-burned/ This was written before MR got more heavily involved but much of it is still true today. All thoughts/takes are much appreciated.

Anything based on player funding, without having sponsors added prize money, is/was destined to fail. At no point in time was there any mention of sponsors, nor any plans of separation between amateurs and Pro's.

The common denominator in all the plans to bring pool up to the level everyone would like to see it at, which is why all plans have failed....is no outside sponsors! Players pockets are only so deep, and they can only afford so much before they hit a breaking
point.

There are plenty of potential sponsors, already spending 100's of millions of dollars on advertising, the problem is everyone that has ever approached them has been with their hands out, asking for money. Never once has someone come up with a plan for the sponsors to actually see a ROI on their advertising dollars, in order to get those sponsorship dollars. Because THAT would require organization AND leadership of this sport, to which, there is none, not then, and not now!
