Are the new Balabushka cues anything like the Adam cues from the
80"s and 90"s. I used to love the old adam"s. If anyone owns the new Balabushka
would like to hear your review
 
They are built well, true splices and all, but they're made in China, just like Cuetecs and my Predators. Just sayin'.
 
you are merely buying a china made cue with a name stolen or bought from the descendants of the real maker.

good or not you are not buying a name brand cue that means anything.
 
Pete Tascarella bought the George Balabushka Cueworks from George Balabushka. As I understand it.

Balabushka Fakes, Inspired, Tributes, Copies, or what ever you wish to call em.

Are copies of Bslabushka’s designs. Coming out of Asia, and some of the better Cuemakers shops.

Well Fred if you know Real Answer please post for everyone to read.

Balabushka’s designs are copied frequently, you have problem with that?

Maybe if the guy protected the design like intellectual property his heirs would be mss as king royalty money.

I stand corrected. They are made in Taiwan, not China. They are still well made and no one claims they are real or original Bushkas. Most of the cues sold in the US are made in Asia. In a perfect world all cues would be Made in America.

I have posted factual information on these boards several times over on this subject . I can’t make people read.

The original poster can DM me since they have a specific question.

I think they are well made today as well.

Early Balabushka Signature Series: made in Japan from 1987-1998 (approximately

Later Adam Balabushka Signature Series made in Universal Cues in China ~1995-2011. I think there was some overlap as Japan was playing with contracting out to China, and the demand had diminished. One can tell by the joint pin if it was made in China.

Balabushka Cue Company purchased rights in 2011 and continue to have these cues built in Taiwan.

I think all three vintages play excellently.

I've seen/hit a real 'bushka and all the Chi/Tai versions. All played great. This will sound like total sacrilege but the last Chi/Tai bushka i saw was built better and played just as well as the original i got to hit. And to echo Freddie's post, NO name theft ever took place. Don't know where people hear this bs. Cornerman knows as much/more about ADAM(and Mezz) history as ANYBODY. He's really filled in my knowledge gaps on Asian cues.

I get confused as to where these cues (Balabushka) are made ,is it China or Taiwan?
My Lucasi was made in China because that's what the sticker on the cue said but I've read that Lucasi is made in Taiwan.
Are some people confusing China with Taiwan?
For those in Loma Linda, China is the big country and Taiwan is the little island off China's coast.

Finding the exact co. of origin can be difficult if not impossible. AFAIK all Lucasi's are made at the Universal/Hamson(old TaiCan) plant in mainland China. Huge place that makes cues for ADAM, Lucasi, Players, Buffalo, Riley, Dufferin and Predator to name a few.
 
Balabushka was a good cue in its time but now it is just a production cue and probably just as good as any other production cue ..... plenty of custom cue makers to choose from now
 
Products made in mainland China, the country of China, are marked "Made in China". Products made in Taiwan are marked "Made in Taiwan". Taiwan would never export anything marked "Made in China".

I once had a Chinese made Balabushka series cue - probably made about 2010- it played very, very well and was well constructed in every way. The newer GB series since 2011 made in Taiwan are also very nice looking cues- I bet that they play great too. I actually have my eye on buying a new one- The Burton Spain model- I think that it is a fantastic looking cue! It has the Bushka ring above the wrap.

China believes that Taiwan is part of China. That might explain the confusion. The thing is I don`t think that China ever ruled Taiwan.
