I was sent this cue to authinticate it as a George Balabushka. I would not because it has materials that are inconsistant with Balabushka construction.
The cue's butt is extreemly solid and hits like a Balabushka. It rolls pretty flat for an old cue. The joint stays on the table when rolled with the shafts on or off. There are two full shafts with ivory ferrels. One is split clean through. They have slight tapper rolls.
My best guess is this is Verl Horn's work. It has quite a few construction details only George and Verl used. This cue is a spot on duplicate to a Bushka. It would take someone like Pete or Dean or me to know instantly it is not one of George's cues.
The cue is a little over 20 ozs and plays superior.
