Ball cleaner questions

The mixture does a GREAT job even when the balls are quite dirty and have contact marks when applied while my machine is running. The issue with using straight aramith cleaner is that it clogs up the cleaning pads of the machine. With the mixture, I seem to get the same great result and it would take many years to get to a place where the pads require replacement or removal and cleaning.

Even on the instruction pages for the mechanical cleaners where straight aramith is used, the recommendation is to use just a couple of drops to clean a full set.

As mentioned, it gums up the cleaning surface but using only the Aramith cleaner still leaves the balls too slick (IMO) as also leaves material on the balls which also transfer to the playing surface.
 
Aramith ball cleaner has always been designed to clean phenolic balls by hand with a soft rag. With the advent of so many ball cleaning machines, both commercial and home made, I'm surprised Aramith hasn't updated their directions for use with cleaning machines.
 
How much Aramith cleaner do you guys use? I have had my Diamond polisher for about 8 years, I use it frequently, I have 3 high end sets of balls I rotate thru my table (with a 4th set still in the package until I replace my cloth) that I clean frequently and I don't have a problem with my polisher getting gummed up. I also don't thin out the Aramith cleaner, I use it straight from the bottle. I am still on the very first bottle of ball cleaner I bought when I got my Diamond polisher and I probably have 3 or 4 more years of product left so it does not require a lot. If you read the Aramith description it also claims it is for use by hand or by electric polishing machines. It sounds to me like people are using for too much product.
 
I purchased my dual Diamond ball polisher from Heath Manning. He directed me to a video he made. That discusses a single platter polisher where you are instructed to use 1 drop of Aramith polisher at 12:00 and 1 drop at 6:00.

I follow those instructions in each of the dual platters and run around 5 minutes. I have no issues that I am aware of.

 
I'm in my early 70's and my bottle that I bought a couple years ago will probably last as long as I play pool.
