Ball Cleaning Machines

I am thinking about investing in a ball cleaning machine. I think the Diamond is out of my price range and is not really portable. My question is the Bludworth or Porper worth the extra $100.00 to $200.00 more than I can get a Ball Star for? Also, are there any other machines out there that do a half to full rack at a time that might be viable options?

Is this for a poolhall, or for one table at home? For home use, many people are happy with building their own. You can use the search feature for 5 gallon bucket ball cleaner.

I believe my local poolhall uses Bludworth, its pretty quiet and been in use daily for at least the last 8 years serving 26 tables.

Go Ballstar....I have one at hone....does 8 balls at a time......the local pool halls in Fresno use these same Ballstar machines.

I just watched a video of the Bludworth machine, you can see the stripe on the 15 ball and it does not rotate the ball at all. It does not seem like it would polish the entire ball without stopping the machine and rotating the ball to a different axis. I have a Diamond polisher at home, while its not really portable it does a spectacular job. While $500.00 seems like a lot at first, when you consider what you have invested in pool balls its not all that bad. I have Aramith Tournament Pros, Centennials, and Cyclops. Thats over $800.00 for billiard balls, I do not want them rotating against each other at high RPM in a ball polisher.

Are you saying the Diamond is around $500.00?

I'm enjoying the Ballstar. I'd buy it again. Shop for price if you are on the market. I got mine from Billiardwarehouse years ago. Only complaint is how was packed.

$450 for the single platter I believe;)

A+++ for the ball star. In 10 min you have a completely well polished set. Never had a hint of problems with the machine. I don't see how spending more money would make a difference.

Go on youtube and see how to build the homer bucket ball cleaner for $20............ been using mine for 4 years............. works great.................

There are a few vids on youtube for 5 gal bucket cleaners, which one do you think is best? I wanna make one & just want opinions before I start. Thanks

there was a post on this very subject a few weeks back, I built a homemade version with a home depot 5 gal bucket as outlined on utube. took me the morning to do and cleans my set of aramith pro in 3 minutes and they come out like new! the only change I made was cutting a piece of carpet (cloth side down so the balls are getting cleaned/polished top to bottom!) ) to go over the top of the balls and a 5 lb weight on top to keep any balls from "jumping".

Diamond polisher

When I first made my 5 gallon cleaner I loved it.You can just about pick any

method you want. They all work well.I also like the idea of placing a piece of

carpet over the top.

Anyway, about the Diamond polisher.Glen,do they make replacement strips of

the cloth they use?Mine is getting very dirty
