balls falling out of ball return

I have a 1965 Brunswick vip with a ball return. Sometimes the last few balls made come flying down the ball return into the basket on top of balls there and go flying out onto the floor bouncing away on the concrete. Some of my balls have scratches. I just bought a new set of centennials and need to fix this problem before I use them. Any suggestions?

Have you crawled under the table and physically watched what is going on with the balls/return? If so, then sould be able to find a fix.

I'm not real handy. I've noticed they come down one side very fast and if there are other balls in the basket, it will hit one of them on top and bounce out.

Do something to slow it down, maybe.

on the vip it is a fairly small ballbox. whats happening is the balls are actually landing on top of other balls and jumping out of the ballbox. You might try adding a small strip of material to the top edge of the ball box.
This should fix it. Dont make too thick where its uncomfortable getting your hand in and out of the box. Good luck!
