Ballstar ball cleaner/polisher sticking!

Hello,

At the room I work at, we have and use a "Ballstar" cleaner/polisher.

I am the only one who uses this machine and it is about 2 years old.

The balls stick to the sides (loose traction) quite often,, and dont get clean.

I have cleaned this machine too the point of looking new!

I replaced the rubber surround, and the wash pad.

I change the disk pad frequent.

The motor is not the problem! I am sure that this is just a design flaw, and a terrible one at that. When the machine works, it's great, when it doesnt however, its a pain.

We don't want to throw away a $400.00 machine! ($500.00 with the parts I've replaced).

Does anyone else have this machine, or heard of this problem and found a way to correct it or modify the machine?

Here is a link to the machine:

Please let me know.

Thank you all!

Incidentally, the room I work at is the Hippodrome in Buffalo, NY

Now you know why the Diamond ball polisher is replacing ball polishers in rooms, and selling like crazy to home owners...because it really works, trouble free ALL the time.

Glen,
When is the home version of the polisher coming out? I have been patiently waiting.

The Diamond Ball cleaner is very good. We just get it and it?s work great on pool balls but in the snooker balls it is not working because the croket what you put in the center is too small so the balls get stuck. Glen when you go to Diamond can you tell them this?

Yeah, I know, it still needs to be tweeked a little bit more, but in the mean time, take off the carpeting and replace it with some Simonis 860, it'll work fine then.

This is a cheaper alternative....

Homemade Ball Polisher

Some of the homemade bucket designs work very well and can be made for less than $100. JoeW said he could make one and ship it for $100.

The one I built works very well and only cost me $25 for the polisher and another $6 for the contact adhesive. I had the buckets and the carpet. You could use about any adhesive because it only needs to hold the carpet in place.

If you have many sets of balls to be cleaned, you might check into another commercial polisher.

The one Joe built is even better because it does all 16 balls at a time, whereas mine only does 8 balls at a time. His cost a little more, but will save time in the long run. It only took me an hour to build mine and that is only because I used 2 buckets. You could build one in less that 15 minutes if you use the one bucket design. I had two buckets and want the motor's air vent not touching the bottom of the bucket, in hopes of prolonging the life of the motor.

PM me if you have any questions.

too much

I have used a Bludworth for almost 4yrs. and the only time it starts to stick is when its used with too much cleaner. It just takes alot less than it seems.
