While in the Army (years ago), I read somewhere about making a fullsplice blank by using a jig on a Tablesaw. Well, the bug is hitting me again on making my own fullsplice and I am older and better financed =). However, the bits and pieces I read on the net, now, state using a Bandsaw and using a jig. I also read something here recently about using a joiner in the process.
Am I just remembering wrongly about making the cuts on a Tablesaw, or is this just a more (precise?) way of making them now, with the bandsaw?
I do plan to go thru with doing this, just hate I may have to buy a bandsaw to do the task correctly. Also, if the bandsaw is required, full floor model or will one of the benchtop models suffice? This would be the only forseeable reason I would buy one (but I will if it is needed to do it right.)
I would like to have an entire library on cue-making of course. I do plan to buy Chris Hightowers book after XMas, but am not sure it will address my specific question (then again, it might...but I wouldnt know till January.) If you have suggestions of other material to read on the process I would appreciate that as well.
I am very lucky to have most of the equipment to make a cue if I want to. Bandsaw just isnt one of em <grin.>
