Banking mirrors

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me where to purchase banking mirrors for my pool table? I have searched the internet and called every company I know of. No one seems to know what I am talking about. A friend got them last year for Christmas as a gift and doesn't know where they came from.
Dave:confused:

I'm thinking that a lady's compact would work well as a substitute.. other than that, I've got no idea where to get something like that.

I know what you are talking about.
They are long strip mirrors that slip in under the rails so that you can actually see the reflection of the pockets in them.

The only time i have ever seen them was at the Super Billiards Expo, YEARS ago.
You might want to try and contact Allen Hopkins to see if he might have vendor lists from previous years so that you might get their contact information if he still does, if they are still in business.

Presumably all you need is a strip of mirror that will fit under the cushion.
So just get an old mirror and have it cut into strips and put some sort of protection on the sharp edges so you don't cut the cloth.
Or build two thirds of a wooden triangle to hold it.

You could purchase some mosaic mirror tiles with the adhesive backs and put them on a wooden yard stick and glue a small wooden triangle to each end to balance it then you just slide it under the rail.

Here's an example of the tile.

Hobby Lobby and Michael's will have them.

I saw the patent site. I don't know the guy you are talking about. Can you tell me how to contact him? I'm from Pa.
Thanks Dave

I have some

I have a set of the mirrors. I've had them for several years. They come in a set of six - one under each cushion - but all you really need for practice is one. They are sized for a 4 x 8 table, so they will fit any table at least that big.

The condition is like new - they don't really degrade with use. Anyone interested, send me a PM & I'll get back to you.

JOB's in Nashville has 2 sets in the pro shop... brand new in the box..... Not sure what the price is... Would give em a call and talk to Ricky or Chris....

If you are really, really interested in this, you should know that the mirror has to be even with the rail groove -- where the center of the ball is when it hits the cushion. In my experience, the skinny mirrors that fit under the cushion are total crap for several reasons.

Bart Mahoney used to sell a mirror that could be placed in the correct position. He's in Sacramento, I think. I haven't seen it for a while, but if you want a mirror for banking/kicking, Bart's is the right way to do it.
