Glenn "Piggy Banks" Rogers
pimp said:I have to agree with the above mentioned names but there is one guy one of the locals here says would easily be the best if he was to play regularly at all. He talks about a Tony Coleman and says the guy will go 3 or 4 months without picking up a cue and then go right out and keep up with the best playing banks. Is this true? I seen he's done alright at the DCC but i don't really see anything else about him anywhere.

Freddy, freddy the beard said:Tony Banks, as he is usually called is a very scary banker. He will play just about anybody and bet much more than they usually want to. He is from Benton Harbor, MI. He does play sporadically, but when he plays he is a "straight-ticket." Meaning, if you beat him you must beat him all the way because he will not quit. While I dont think he plays as good as the really top boys, he has as much heart as anybody and will not dog-it for big-big money. He once drove out to Vegas to play Toby (a guy he cant beat). The stipulation, though, was Toby had to bet 50k! Tony put the cheese up on the table, but Toby decided he had other fish to fry and backed out.

I agree that there should be more Chicago players on it as well, including:

If we were to ask about "all-time," then my list would look something like this:
Eddie Taylor (never saw him play, but I'll believe the stories)
Bugs Rucker
Gary Spaeth
Nick Varner
Buddy Hall
Seems like when we talk of banks, Kentucky and Chicago are always well represented.
Fred <~~~ still not on the list
P.S. and Janis will never make the list![]()
That's why I asked about Marco. As for Ike, I haven't seen him play too much in the ways of banks. He is a very solid player no matter what game he's playing. Ike is a friend of mine and I'd put him in ANY game.BackPocket9Ball said:How could anyone leave NICK VARNER off of this list?!

( ball bank- called short rack is broken like 9 ball. first to make 5 banks. 15 ball bank is generally broken safe just opening a couple of balls. first to bank 8 balls. Go to Derby City in January and you will see the best.
