Banned by Atlas

I usually don't chime in on these threads and communicate through PM's. My main point was I would call them again and work things out. Hopefully the damage hasn't been done already.

If you found everything you need already and it is cheaper I would just move on.

My personal opinion is Atlas is a good source to have.

Good luck.

Here is where words get out of context. Randy said nothing about asking anyone not to buy. His statement was a comparrison to how much he spent a year and if they cut out 50 more people he knew could they afford it.

To me it is not a matter of that. Sellers seem to forget how much work and or money they spent to get a good customer. If the customer seems to have a problem, you talk to them about it, not can them, come to a mutual understanding (or at least try)

The CEO of Tyco Flow Control in the 70's when told about problems or that customers were complaining would say something like "it's time to get a new set of customers".
It's not uncommon for a supplier to fire a customer, we did it, and so did our competitors.
If I felt that a customer was making negative comments about my company, I would not cut them off, but their pricing would go up drastically.
Some of these engineering companies with engineers located all over the world were hard to get rid of.

This situation reminds me of an inside joke between my daughter and I, that developed after a local room owner kicked a guy out of the pool hall for "talking shit" about him on Facebook.
I don't get on Facebook, but apparently it is a big deal.

Maybe it was this post.

I guess my sarcasm may have been lost with the shipping rates, which everyone complains about. The rest is all public record.

Maybe Joe will ban me too....

Hey Randy...

Nah, in fact you're on our good guy list now. :D
For publically making us aware of this, if you need some Genuine Moori - we'll sell you up to 20 for $8 each. Thank you.

It's been a while since I last played on here but I find this absolutely amazing that a retailer would ban someone for something they said. If that was the case, we'd be out-of-business. :D

Regarding your link...
Let's face reality, there were in fact Ivory raids for Warther, Atlas and us (as well as similar raids on Gibson Guitars). We were all raided. It started with Warther which led them to Atlas and then months later we were in fact raided. From what we have been able to ascertain, Warther turned CI (confidential informant) and set-up an ivory client who they were purchasing ivory from. Atlas was raided and eventually paid over $162,000 fine. And lastly, we were raided. After a 3 year long investigation, we pleaded to a misdemeanor for not having a permit. Case closed for all three. Now it's ancient history.

All this is public knowledge so why would Atlas take exception to any of that. I mean, they were in fact raided and they did in fact sell cut ivory which was purchased from Warther. They exported it illegally to clients in Japan and Germany as well as other foreign countries well over 90 separate times. It's over and done with so why would they ban anyone for saying that? Doesn't sound logical to us but maybe they don't like to see their name up in lights.

More importantly is the message that Randy's ban sends out to all of you. This is how they do things in Chicago. Ban someone on AZ, make it known that it was for something they said and hence you scare everyone off from talking badly about you. Atlas thinks everyone needs them.

For what it's worth -- don't take it personally and move on. If you need something, have a friend order it. No big deal.

Hey.... next time any of you speak with Atlas, tell them we're waiting for them to take us up on our wager about their fake Moori story which can be read here:

We wish all of you a wonderful week.

According to Atlas, more than one person who knows who I am on here called them up and said I was speaking negatively. It's most likely a shaftwood(firewood) supplier and a gun show person. I'm glad that they got a laugh or two between Coors Lights. I really don't care. It's sad you have nothing else going.

Yes, I am outspoken about alot of things. I guess that is becoming a problem for me personally and professionally.

I would like to thank those(see above) who took the trouble to call up Atlas to remind me of the fact that this isn't a bunch of friends I am talking to. I hope you gained something with Atlas for your troubles.

You shure showed me..

You know..... I tend to be really nearsighted at times.....and a pain in the ass. The more I reflect, the more I realize I would probably do the same thing.

I would have probably closed my account too.

I said some harsh things, but I'll stand behind them and accept whatever happens as a consequence of who I am.

I also suppose I owe Atlas thanks for a few things:
1. Delivering on time..
2. Updated inventory(not taking money on stuff that wasn't in stock)
3. Always taking care of any issues I had(including stuff that was over 6 months old)

Anyway, I don't begrudge Atlas.

As far as the persons who called. I laughed harder than anyone when I learned someone actually took the time to snitch me out!!

He's into leather now.
Firewood dealers should be outed anyway.

This is the best part of this business. It's loaded with Rats. Every time we push a product with a great price, the 'Price Police' come out of the woodwork like the cockroaches that they are. They report us to all the manufacturers thinking someone will cut us off. And then we find out who they are and it's the same creeps every time.

It would of been interesting to hear the conversation Atlas had when they came up with the idea to ban you, considering it was a snitch that ratted you out.
Atlas is wrong in this situation, and besides the obvious, they have to understand that this is just an internet forum, and business is business.
If Atlas was that concerned they should of contacted you about it.
Atlas should be more concerned about the way the new Moori tips play, than a comment about the pricing.

Talked with Atlas just now and they reinstated my account.

If I could learn to keep my mouth shut, I would be MUCH better off....

Do you have any luck at all in this madness?
You got shafted with didley mop handles, machine fall over nearly
killing you , give free tech support and get sent to see a clunker ,
get ratted out....
Oh UPS and a local player got you too.
I hope you're not a Cubs fan.

Oh, if you come down for the Tad cup, drop by.
See my ugly dowels, nifty taper machine and wood collection.
