Bar boxes.... suck?

No no........ not mad ... its just that the scene back home is all boxes ....APA style ...... I would like to start playing on some boxes to get a little time in but i cant find anything here......and 9fts are hard to find there...

I was mainly wondering if people actually break out the gear to play on the coin ops.... over here you would be laughed out of the place if rolled in and set up 2 cues and a j/b and blah blah blah ... That is what I have dealt with for the last 6 years s its kinda rubbed off on me...
I too have $2,000 in cues and a Q claw to set them on, and I will take them to play on tourney nights at the bars. But on the weekends, when I just simply go to play, or hopefully (yeah right) find some action, I will just take in my sneaky pete, because people are not only stupid, but sometimes blind too.

Ex. I almost got in a fight one night, trying to get my cue back from a guy who thought it was a house cue. Damn idiot didn't even realize he was shooting with my BREAK/JUMP CUE with a phenolic tip. Only cuz it looked like a house cue (although it clearly broke into three pieces). I almost broke it over his head when he wouldn't hand it over to me.

thats another thing

thee places i play over here are "classy" joints... take my home room... 20 9ft & 5 snooker tables nice wallpaper / pictures ... carpet... molding.. on and on .. really nice place... Nothing like most of the places i went to last month.... Except for the Hole's place .. it looked pretty nice.. but was packed with coin tables... and i think 5 9 ftrs in the back... but they were the exception to the rule .... most of the places were run down kinda rough places... which is cool with me , but i aint to sure that my wife would tag along to any of these rooms....... wait a sec... maybe that aint so bad after all :)

Just an opinion

Walking in with 2k worth of cue and a pretty case beats walking in with 2k worth of attitude and then playing like you were at a BBQ....
Just my opinion but I'm sticking to it.

oh yeah i also have a sneaky pete a friend of mine made that i take to bars. that's the only cue i take to bars

> It could be worse. You could be forced to play on them if you want to play on fast cloth, because the only 8 footers in town are literally covered in 5 yr old, worn out horse blanket cloth, and no 9 footers within a 2 hour drive. Tommy D.
