barbox cue ball

Apocalypse2012:

That is what folks in my area call a "grapefruit ball." It measures 2 3/8 inches, as compared to normal object balls which measure 2 1/4 inches.

If you pocket your measles ball on this table, it's going to go in to the object ball tray, and you'll have to pay for another rack on that table to get it out. (Unless you're friendly with the proprietor of your establishment, in which case you can ask for the key to open the side panel of the table and retrieve it yourself at no cost.)

Hope this is helpful!

That what I thought:angry: But I'm willing to use the measles CB untill someone scratches. Then when the next banger puts his 75 cents in I get to use my CB again

PS the table is a piece of sh*t and I always need to get the key

There is also a slow roll cut down a rail to a corner pocket shot where the cb is a sure scratch in the side with a normal weight cb...but the heavy ball passes the side pocket :D

Yup, that is a variation of the "smash-through" shot, in that you're not hitting the cue ball hard. Because of the Red Dot Dynamo's heavier weight (which translates into remaining untransferred energy after contact with the object ball), the Red Dot Dynamo "wants" to keep moving in the same direction it was originally moving in (even after contact with the object ball), thus avoiding the scratch. Methinks the 30-degree rules goes out the window here because of that heavy cue ball, and in fact is much less (perhaps 20 degrees?).

The first time even a semi-seasoned opponent sees this shot, they think you're going to scratch into the side pocket -- and they'd be correct if you were using a standard cue ball. But you shoot the shot normally -- no special english or spin (or you can use inside english if you like), and the Red Dot Dynamo bypasses the side pocket without scratching, even though it would normally be on a carom angle to scratch. I've seen opponents rub their eyes or scratch their heads in disbelief. :D
