Tried to check out the website for the cuemaker, and just got one of the parked domain ads.

I'm guessing the email won't work either.

Anone know the shipping cost from Philipines to US?
 
I would like one as well, but without the shaft.

Inserts with big pins tend to produce a different kinda hit - one that I'm not fond of.

But I will commit to buying the butt - even at the same price!

Hm.. I thought that cue was brand new, from the pictures it sure looked it. At $800 that cue is very nice looking but is now in the "eh" category. You can pick up several similar sticks for that price.
 
Thanks guys for the nice comments. Actually, my cuemakers here in the Philippines, Bebot Bautista & Al Bautista are both quite good. And the prices are surprisingly low. I have a cue coming out this month (June) and it's a highly-figured bird's eye maple forearm, 8 high points of dark, rare curl kamagong, same kamagong handle (wrapless), and same kamagong butt, seems nothing fancy but... it will have real ivory, 16 inlays total and ivory rings. :rolleyes: shaft is 30+ grains hard rock maple, wood to wood. I personally chose the slab of woods to be used. I'm getting it for only USD300. of course, you won't get the same price as this is a special price for me but i assure you, the market price he will tag will not be as far. :) how i wish i could bring his crafts to the US. i'm sure you guys won't be disappointed.

i will post pictures of the finished cue once i get it next week. oh, i also have a pink ivory + ivory due this December, sort of a self-Christmas present.:D you might fall on your seats if you knew how cheap it is. :)

Last time I posted my previous cue, some commented the photography made a lot of difference and it seemed deceiving. So this time, I will post initial pics taken from a camphone under a flourescent light. There are no professional photography and lighting effects here. No camera tricks. :)

Too bad pics aren't that clear and the figure of the dark kamagong is not very visible. :(

Maybe it is best seen in actual to appreciate. :wink:

I agree with you VonRhett about the inserts. I also noticed it is not wood to wood joint, it has a solid pvc joint not a sleeved on thin pvc joint. I like wood to wood and radial pins or big pins only!!!!

If made as described above I am a buyer as well !!!!!!

thanks for the inputs. the shaft has no fibra insert inside. the pin goes straight and directly to the wood thread in the shaft. i'm talking of the 8-pt cue, not the pj. :)
 
Yea great LOOKING cue. The vast majority of cues made in the PI will warp on you in short order. The woods are just not properly dried and cured. Want more cues like this? No problem...they can be had for 1/2 that price and they will be even fancier. What good is a cue that looks nice, but warps in 6 months? I am not saying the cue shown will warp...but odds are if its from the PI it will. Buyer beware.
 
Also be aware its illegal to import ivory into the usa. All cues with ivory will be confiscated by customs! You paid...no delivery, its YOUR problem. No PI cue maker will ship you a cue COD..haha. It is possible to import cues with certified ivory, but you have to make sure of that before shipping and have documents to back it up. Again...buyer beware.

i appreciate your comments. but all my cues are philippine-made, some 3,4,6 years old. they haven't warped and probably never will in natural conditions. maybe it's all about who's the cuemaker. :)
