Hi folks, I was just curious what the people on here thought of this. I was recently barred from playing on the Kings Bay Amateur tour for winning the seasons point race! Although i never won a single tournament! Granted i did cash regularly, but it's not like i dominated the tour, or scared anyone off!
I sorta feel like this was personal, since we(me and the tour director-Kay Higgins, recently had a run-in when i questioned her about some bonus points she had given to another player, for leaving a tournament at Fastbreaks in Longwood, which had cancelled her tournament and scheduled their own, which once i was there, decided to play in. She acted like we should leave to show loyalty to her tour, last i checked i'm not under contract to her, and i work for a living! But she gave the people who left bonus points!
When i questioned her about it , i told her it was bullshit. And she acted like i cussed her like a sailor! Then all of the sudden i was the worse person on tour, and a bad sport because i don't like to lose! excuse me! i'm competitive, i don't want to lose to Efren if i can help it! So then when i do win the points race suddenlyi'm exempt for the next season for winning the points race, even though no other season's points winner was barred the next season,and unlike me thay actually won several tournaments to win the points whereas i just went to alot of events and was a consistent casher! SHE WONDERS WHY THE NUMBERS ON HER TOUR ARE DOWN!!!!!!!!

From your post, I believe that you can be difficult to deal with if things aren't going your way. Usually, if problems and concerns are handled in a calm and rational manner, all parties will come to some sort of understanding. I understand that you feel victimized by the tour director. Without knowing all the facts I cannot give my opinion as to who is right or wrong, but I don't think that public trashing is the way to go.

P.S. take an English writing course or something....

I'm trying to be a less ascerbic person, but I do feel the need to remind you that you've said on here a few times how you like to hang around the King's Bay tournaments after you lose, and gamble with the other players, and regularly win more than the winner of the tournament in these side games.

Perhaps the tour director saw this as an opportunity to help you find better competition. After all, if you are regularly robbing the King's Bay players, then perhaps it IS time to step up and play with those big boys on the Florida Pro Tour, instead of "clubbing baby seals".

Just a thought... down here in Florida we have several existing tours that you can support. Many areas are not as fortunate as we are to be able to pick and choose. We have the Florida Pro Tour, The J Pechauer Southeast Open Tour, The Ladies Spirit, and the KBP Amatuer Tour. All fo the tours do their best to ensure that they are not scheduled on top of each other. Bringing another tour down here would certainly not help, but hurt the area (IMO - I hope I'm wrong). I know Mike (in the name of expanding his tour) probably doesn't see it that way, but nonetheless, eventually we will end up losing one of the existing tours.

Thanks and kudos to you Mike Janis for scheduling your Florida event while the Southeast Open Tour will be in Mississippi on January 26-27. If TK doesn't need my help - I will be there in Cape Coral. Send me some flyers that I can distribute here locally.

Blackjack, I did my best to not schedule the Viking Tour event on top of any other events with similiar money added so the players wouldn't get divided up. Also, I am not actively trying to expand the Viking Tour to FL. mainly because it's too far for me to travel and ther is way, way too much competition. The only reason you see a Viking Tour event in FL is because the room owner JAMES OSWALT of the brand new Diamonds Billiards and Sports Bar is a personal friend of mine. James is from Chicago and has also worked for me in the past. Over a year ago he told me he was opening a new room in FL and he requested that I do his Grand Opening Tournament. As you will notice on the ads for this event we are not charging any tour card fee to the FL non-pro players because it is our only event in FL. Consider this event mostly just a promotion for the new room and a great event for everyone to participate in.

I hope to see everyone there.

This is my Vacation week so come with your party hats on.

i wish mike janis and viking would do an amatuer in michigan area. i have played in his opens when they were here but would much prefer the amatuer tour. come on m,ike, ya know ya wanna!!

Unfortunately with the current position of tournament cuesports it would be impossible for me to send our valuable sponsorship resources to the amateur division in undeveloped states. Maybe when a real PRO TOUR gets off the ground with proper structure I will reconsider.
