i think they are talking today, thats my understanding,

For those that were guessing Barry Hearn
It is my understanding that this is what happened:
Someone inside BB floated the name out there about approaching Barry. Then, like the game telephone, players embellished the story, from, approaching Barry and it soon became Barry was the savior.
And yes, as stated, some players had a direct line to Barry. Someone took the initiative and contacted him directly to ask if these rumors were true. Barry laughed and said it was the first he had heard about it and flat out wasn't interested. These rumors were squashed by July 29. Why they persisted, I can't answer.
As a business entity, bonus ball is dead. There isn't anyone within the industry that could save it, because they know better. Outside investors only look at the bottom line. Managerial mistakes can be overcome. Lack of potential revenues can not.
There is only one industry that can save BB, and that is television. You'd have to get some exec who likes the concept and wants to broadcast it, hoping to develop viewers and advertisers. But that's a long, long longshot. They televise family ninja contests, so anything is possible. Perhaps in the future. Bonus ball as it was is dead.

NYC,good post, I totally agree with you.BB was dead a long time ago but the facts don't matter to the dreamers. Even when it is obvious it is a nightmare, they still want to believe it will end in a fairy tail ending.
Even now the dreamers are still supporting BB with their friends, santa claus,tooth fairy,bugs bunny .and casper the ghost.
