Playing 8 ball under BCA rules if I have stripes am I allowed to call a safe and pocket a stripe ball and it's my opponents shot?

Yes. There is no "put you back in" rule in BCA 8 ball. And it definitely isn't a foul. And calling safe is no different than saying "12 in the side" and shooting it in the corner.

After calling a "safe" the player must make a "legal shot" and then the inning proceeds to the opponent.
You can make or miss the ball(s).
As long as it is a "legal shot" there is no BIH.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm starting to play in a BCA 8 ball league on the 15th and I wanted to make sure this was ok so if Billy bar banger calls a foul I know it's legal.

2-8 Safety Play Prior to any shot except the break, you may declare a safety. On a safety, your inning ends after the shot regardless of whether you pocket any ball. If you do not declare a safety and you pocket a ball on an obvious shot, your inning continues and you must shoot again. A safety must meet the requirements of Rule 1.19, Legal Shot, or it is a foul. (AR p. 77, 103)

Sometimes when shooting a safety towards the corner pocket, it is actually more beneficial to hang that ball in the pocket instead of dropping it. Sometimes I'm successful at that, sometimes it drops. Ha ha.
