I hear the Riveria may be full, if so I like the Las Vegas Hilton. It is just across the street from where the pool tables are located in the Riveria and there are some definite advantages to staying there as well.

...not to mention champion Ed Kelly was dealing blackjack last time I was there

If you call the BCA they still have rooms at the Riviera, i booked mine recently at $79 a night. When you call the Riviera they will tell you they are booked. This is all second hand knowledge as someone is taking care of my accomodations for me:)

The Stardust is right across the street, a much better hotel/casino, and cheaper for a room for the night. Plus, if you gamble, they take much better care of you. I wouldn't spend a nickle in the Riviera except for the pool tables. The place is a dump, the food is atrocious at the buffet, the diner has the slowest service anywhere, and the casino employees are rude. The pool is nice. (I had to say something good)

Hey watchez, where the hell were you when MY room was getting booked!! Damnit, now I'm staying in a bullshit hotel.

Fxskater wishing someone would watchez out for HIM.

A largly unknown restaurant at the Riv is the Italian Restaurant just across from the Splash Bar. Really Really good food, They have these bread sticks that are wrapped in Bacon! Great service too. So if you want a good sit down meal in the Riv they are high on Bill’s list of Vegas restaurants.

...there I said something nice also

I've stayed at the Stardust, Riviera, and Circus Circus during the tournament over the past 6 or so years.

There is no substitue for staying where the tournament is. No walking, you can quickly go take a rest if needed, and no cue check. The food court has fast food type stuff if you like that sort of thing. I agree that the Italian place is excellent, but the hours suck and you might need a reservation.

Also, don't forget the $1 beer (including Heineken) at the 'Ho across the street! Drink up for when I play you.

Last Question Do it cost to get in as a Spectator, as I say NO PRICES.... :p

The Riviera still has some rooms in the "BCA Block". You have to ask for the BCA pool tournament rate, which is $79 per nite - even though it goes over two weekends.

The event and the hotel are filling up kinda fast.

See ya in Vegas.

This whole post by you makes no sense. I can get to my room @The Stardust almost as fast, if not faster, than any room in the worn down Riviera. They have all these Towers built that are no where close to the pool tournament. And you want someone to walk across the street for $1 beer....than why not stay across the street for cheaper, better, nicer, cleaner, all together more enjoyable service. PLUS, the Riviera always overbooks every year. Hope you don't have a late checkin on Tuesday night of the tournament. Chances are you will be standing at the counter for quite some time as they scramble to find you a room....somewhere east of Egypt in one of their far out towers. This after you stand in line for 45 minutes just to check in. The Riviera is a two bit operation on one of the greatest places on our planet. Hell, if you want to cash in a $500 chip it takes two phones to ok it at the window.

Got an e-mail from the person I was planning on going with. His wife said NO. So I will be staying in Lizard Acres... :o

You're the one not making any sense.

I was referring mostly to the advantage of staying there for the tournament. The towers are right there, what the hell are you talking about?? What's nicer about the Stardust? When I've stayed there, it's been no cleaner or nicer than the Riv and their food sucks too.

I'm checking in Friday because I'm playing singles and it does sometimes take a while, but they all do. I waited 10 times longer to check into Circus Circus one year.

Yes, the Riv isn't the best casino around for sure, but the Stardust nicer?Give me a break! If you want to stay in a nice casino, stay on the other end of the strip.

As far as greatest places on the planet? What are you high? It's the biggest tourist trap on the planet!

First of all, Mr. Tinyballs, you don't know me so please don't make a reference if I am high? Enjoy your stay at the Riviera de Dump. Like I said, places like the Stardust are much nicer & more accommedating. For a moderate gambler like myself ($25 a hand blackjack), I can stay there for $19.50 a night. Can you get that rate at the Riviera?? The answer is no because of all the league players already fighting to stay there as they think it is closer to the tournament room. Enjoy your stay there, make sure you buy lots of those $3.00 sodas they sell you and two chicken fingers for $9.00. Then go out onto the casino floor at the Riviera & check out all the nice 70 year old cocktail waitresses & the inept, rude dealers they have. The buffet upstairs I wouldn't feed to my dog.
