BCA Finals

When I walked in, Dennis was up 1-0 and Shane missed a long tough shot on the One ball. He did not get another open shot for several racks and missed another long toughie I think. He finally made a ball in the 6th rack, ran to the 5 then snookered himself behind the 7 trying to break it out. Still, he kicked in the 6 and looked like he would get on the score board after making the 7, but just came up short on the 9. Heartbreaker!

As far as the TV race, I have asked the same question and I think the reason is the expense. Even though they will edit anyway, it is the event (ie: the BCA or WPBA) that pays for the coverage not ESPN. I am guessing, but in filming and post editing, every minute is expensive and it could add up to a lot of extra money to cover and then edit a match down... that is really the only reason that makes sense to me anyway...?

Anyway, both matches were great, my team and I had a great tourney and now I can not wait to get home!

Thanks! If that is the reason for the shortened races, it sucks for the players who worked so hard to make it to the end, only to have a shorter race. Either way, at least it will be on T.V.

Corr wins the Women's Final

Just wondering if anybody is going to give a live game by game recap from the BCA Finals which I believe should be happening right now?

Dennis Orcollo 7-0 against Shane
and Karen Corr 7-4 against Fisher.

Shane didn't play his game at all and, on top of it, he didn't have many good looks to get out. He had some opportunities to battle for control of the table a little, but that was about it. He did have one really good opportunity to get going but he hooked himself on the 6, kicked it in, made a tough shot on the 7 to get pretty good on the 8, then came up way short on the 9. He could have tried to bank it or cut it, he elected to cut it but missed. That was about it. Orcullo played real well but didn't have to do anything spectacular to win.

Shane might had run complacent because he beat Dennis in the barbox before the finals started. by the way, did Dennis lose that barbox match?

Aren't you saying that Dennis lost to Shane, then you're asking if he lost??? Maybe I'm missing something. Are you just asking for confirmation?

Fred <~~~ confirming... Shane beat Dennis on the barbox, alternating breaks, race to...15 or so. Two sets.
