IMO, since the BCA is pulling away from the sport and concenting on industry, and since they have sold the players/league/sport to the ACS, I feel they should relocate the Hall of Fame Pics and memorbalia to the ACS, where the players/sport are of concern. What do you think? BF

I asked on here and on the ccb at billiards digest a couple of times about the location of the BCA Hall of Fame. I even sent an email to the BCA asking them where it is so i could go visit it. I got no responses from the BCA or from any one who knew where it is. The closest reply (GUESS) i got was that it is nothing more than a closet at the headquarters of the BCA somewhere in Chicago. it is odd, that we, in this sport that we all love have no hall of fame we can visit. Hell, someone here in the Albany NY area even opened up a pro wrestling hall of fame.(it is in schenectady i think) anyway, he gets about 5000 visitors a year. and it is free. but he does accept donations....mike

.

I think you are having far too much of a kneejerk reaction. I think you are not a Nostradamus type fortune teller and you don't have a clue whether Mark might actually make the BCA an even stronger entity then it was before this sale. I think you don't know Mark or have any idea of his motives. I think the BCA was a stagnant organization that was not bringing this sport to the greater public and was instead creating a small and closed sub culture of pool players. I think you should maybe give Mark a chance before posting crap like this because I think it does nothing but hurt our sport having negative people like you reaming on people before they even get a chance.

Its located at 4345 Beverly St. Suite D Colorado Springs, CO 80918. 1-866-USA-POOL is the toll free number for now. The hall/plaque area is located inside and on the north end of the building with a hand carved (50K) Olhausen table (recognizing the BCA's anniversary), covered with a hand made suede table cover from RC design. The "famers plaques" are located on the wall in order of year. John Lewis had many of his framed older pictures adorning the walls in the area to accompany the setting. A couple of bar stools/high top oak cocktail tables/chairs and a wall rack with cheap cues surround the table. The table is lit with a green glass three globe light fixture trimmed in a shiny metal. Only one employee left knows anything about billiards and I think she "Linda" has quit playing. Once in a great while someone will come in to look, but rarely. The big wigs use the area to bolster their, .....................gos and to make themselves appear to be tied to something bigger. BF

Bigfoot,

I think you are trying to confuse me. The BCA sold the league to a board member and the league is now called the "BCA Pool League". What makes you think it was sold to the "ACS"? And just where do you think this "ACS" is located?

The BCA Pool League intends to have offices in Las Vegas. I don't know if the buyer has any interest in running the Hall of Fame. I would think that he has enough to keep him busy. At any rate, why should the league players pay to have a Hall of Fame consisting mostly of pro players and others who have had little or nothing to do with league play?

The league should concentrate on league operations. That's what I think.

Ken, I made a mistake, in reading John Lewis's "American CueSports fiscal year - June 1 - May 31 of following year.
Affiliated state associations - Through surveys of BCA membership, it is projected that most, if not all, current BCA state associations, will affiliate to American CueSports). Amount of future financial subsidies will be determined by the national board of directors, many of whom are currently BCA State Association Presidents."
I was thinking the BCA leagues were still in John Lewis's hands somewhat because of this statement from the ACS website, sorry, I was not trying to confuse.
As for the Hall of Fame, allot of top pros came out of league play, 94 Jeremy Jones, 95 Bob Vanover, 98 John Kucharo,79 Jimmy Reid, 80 Nick Varner, 81 Danny Diliberto, 94 Ron Wiseman, 94 Julie Mason, 79 Glorian Walker, 80 Billie Billing, 81 & 84 Belinda Campos, and many more I am sure will follow. I feel to win the National 8-Ball Championsips, takes a true player in many ways to accomplish this difficult feat. BF :o
