I love playing competitively. I however am not on a team. I know they have a singles competition. How do you qualify for it? Do you just pay the money and go or do you have to qualify? I am in SC if it matters. Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

They have a "players" tournament that starts on Monday...It allows anyone to just pay the necessary enty and reg fees and play.

Sice the tournament is a non-handicapp event, It was designed to keep the road players out of the main tournament that everyone else paid thier dues by acutally playing in a league...

A friend of mine did not play in a league and went just to play in that one event...Every opponent he played was from a foreign (Non Canada) country.... It was actually quite fun for him .

I would play in that one except that I am qualified for the main singles tournament.

Not that you won't run into some very strong players in the main event.....My first non bye round match started out with me dry breaking and my opponent running out, he broke and ran out, I dry broke again and he ran out... down 3-0 in my first round match without every hitting a ball other than the break....ouch...

Hey subdude,

There is a "Players" event for non league members at the BCA's. My information says it starts Saturday, May10th at 9:00 AM. Go to playbca.com. Link to the 8 ball event page for an entry form. Cost is $150 plus table dollars. Early entries close March 22nd. After that, its an additional $25.00. Good luck!
