BCA lo won't support BCA

Well lets see now. What do I want my local LO to do. I know him personally and like him fine. Where I worked they wanted me to do my job. I think I want him to do his job. They say he has one of the biggest memberships out there but I don't know that to be a fact, just heresay as far as I know. Mainly stop letting true masters go off and play in opens for starters. He does an ok job really in all other respects, but telling refs not to go here and there is sort of odd to me. This too many events thing too close together has just started and others know more than me the politics involved, I just thought it odd he would be against any event taking place.

Politics involved is always a problem like Religion. But I know when I had my Photography business the local's where I lived were always hitting me up for Free this or that, or could you Shoot this or that for FREE.

My standard answer was NO, I live in this Town, it is where I spend my money in the grocery story, gas station, restaurants, dry cleaners, etc.

But I make no money off of my neighbors, so I did not feel I was obligated to say YES to any solicitations for FREEBEES.

BTW I was an Editorial Photographer, and my Clients that paid me to work for them were Time, Newsweek, and National & International Publication, and I traveled all over California & Nevada to do work for these clients, or the photo News Agencies I was under contract with.

BTW you still did not say in Black & White what you would like this BCA League Operator to do to support your cause?

My Cause? Coco cowboy

I don't have a cause. I have played and supported league pool over 25 or so years. Served on the board of governors for the old Busch Pool League and handicap review board for about 4 years. Lots of sandbagging and all the stuff that goes with league pool. Started this thread because I thought it weird our operator was not on board with something BCA. Wasn't privy to all the politics and shenanigans that others have indicated are going on. Hope this enlightens you as I had no idea I was opening up some kind of can of worms. As players we are always looking to go somewhere and compete in our passion. I also don't think I need a cause or agenda to start a thread, but I also realize some folks do. Waiting on my own cocobolo cue due about March. Hope the Cowboy had nice turkey day.

hey gnat, this is Bill from JJs just wanted to let you know about our saturday night tourney. $200.00 added race to 3. 8-ball in the winners race to 3 9-ball in the losers $10.00 entry rated 10 and under only starts at 6:30 sharp

My problem with the upcoming situation as a business owner, is the fact that the economy is tough right now and all of your local pool rooms and bars are struggling to stay open. Now you have an out of town company coming in and setting up 40 tables at a casino, taking business away from all of the locals. I myself lost the APA citywide tournament to Remington because these tables are here. That took $25,000.00 in revenue out of my pocket. Also having the players couped up in a casino for 2 days the players go gamble in the casino, go broke, and when it is over they come back to us with no disposable income. Then they either don't spend a dime, or want to run a tab until they get paid. These guys coming to town costs local businesses money for a couple of months. Any one who thinks the casino is supporting pool is either very naive or just plain stupid. They want as many people as possible in their casino so they can empty their pockets. The people who truly support pool are here year round and are paying dues for their teams, holding tourneys, and keeping players a good place to play. Where are the players gonna play if these companies run us out of business

Yes Drew, I hail from Edmond, actually, nice to see you playing with one of hucks cues. Do you play with it or is it a breaker? Hope Huck can make a go of it, he's always been decent to me and he is a pretty fair player. Just got himself a baby recently. He plays with Teddy Bears, Snivlin Snavley, Chuck M., Mark D., J. Rod, and the little eccentric guy who never cleans his shaft? Can't remember his name. Wears white tape on his glasses and they ain't broke!! Thats eccentric to me. What speed are you Drew?

Hey Mr. Wiggles how long have you lived in Edmond? I graduated from Edmond high school and I learned to play golf at Tiger's pool room. That was 1986-87. Any chance we may have run into each other when I was skipping school? :-)

I remember Tigers, but I was a little before your time, about 20 years. But who knows we probably have played somewhere, small world you know.
