BCA National Team events are going on now.

My crew from Edmonton still alive in the Advanced division and into the final 3, giddy up Ocho Choko.

I just noticed that this new format for the BCA doesn't appear to have gone over all that well...there isn't a Men's masters division this year. I'm glad I was too busy to make it down because having a team with no opposition would suck.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Off Constantly ll win or do well in the Open. ;)

Well,,,you made a good call,,, you posted this 4 days ago right after the thread started. (and the tournament) Great job ,,it was hard to predict then,,but you nailed it.

Now its about over,,, and you see some people's post ,, that are predicting the past!! LMAO:wink:

Congrats to "off constantly ll" !!!

Big congrats to Ritchie, Mike, Scott, Gil, Eddie, Gil and the sixth player that I dont recognize for steamrolling the Mens Open Team event and bringing the title home to Chicago for the second year in a row! And to Kristen and Domin8ers for winning the Womens Masters Team event! Chicago is representing.

Pretty tough for 3 - 4 master players and 1 - 2 advanced players in what is supposed to be the "open" division. They dominated. Only 1 team made it to 10 against them going to 13. Never even broke a sweat!

I like all the guys personally but it just goes to show the rating system used is not working well after all these years.

The sixth man is Tony Gahala. He is the mastermind, manager & scorekeeper and all-around good guy ;)

Minnesota won the Open team last year. They had an unknown named Jesse Engel on the team.

Ike's team won two years ago....my team took 3rd that year.

I was mistaken. I apologize and congratulations to all winners of this tourney. You, Jesse and the rest of the team must have played well.

Its the same handicap system you use at The Carom Room. Dont get me wrong, you run the best tourney Ive ever been to, but there are many players flying under radar.

Anyway, congrats to the guys. Duane, hope all is well with you, Dave and the Carom Room and I hope to see you next month.

That's the nature of pool league unfortunately, everyone trying to slide into the divisions below them whenever possible. The fact that there wasn't a master's division this year tells the story, either that or the 3 man team idea didn't sit well with players.

Congrats to the windy city once again. :-) Props to you guys.

+1. Teams break up and re-align to fit into the ever changing ratings rules. I think the BCAPL experimented this year and hope they will go back and re-think the masters teams. Personally it's my favorite event, and I doubt I'll go out to the BCA until they bring it back.

I was actually planning on making my first trip to the BCA(after years of the VNEA) this year but the fact that master's teams was changed to a 3 man event turned me off. The attendance speaks volumes and I hope the message is heard by the powers that be.

Congratulations

Guess I'd better make one more note of Congratulations to the Domin8ers as well!! Great job gals and a big WELL DONE to Kristen "Special K" Castaldo one of my favorite team mates!!! Can't wait to congratulate you when you get back!!!!

I volunteer for the 5th spot if you can't find someone else. Oh that's right, I'm a "Master" player so I can't play. P.S. Congrats to Tony Gahala. After some near misses you were long overdue.

Jeff,

this is now a binding contract, you are my fifth.
I will also have you select our team name!!!

Mike

Yes & no! We modeled our divisions off the BCAPL. We also work hard at trying not to be fooled although it happens. I understand it is a difficult task with 3,000 team players. The BCAPL tourney is great & I fully support their efforts.

However, if you take a quick peek at our published master list on the website you will find 4 of the players listed as "masters". No surprise to you or anyone that knows their ability I'm sure ;)

You still have to win the matches and they did that well. Congrats to Gil, Eddie, Mike, Scott, Ritchie & Tony
