BCA pool league Fargo drama

wow, that seems very simple, that's one row for each match?

...so, on Mikes end, excel is recognized by his setup and inputs as it reads?
and, if there's 2 games per matchup, would it be as simple as an 11th column with GAME 1, 2, rowed in order?

Yes one row for each match, but no there is only one score column per person.
In my league, each match is a single game, so the score will always be 1-0.
If you have a match that is a race to 5, for example, and one player wins 5-3, then you put a 5 in one score column and a 3 in the other score column.

As far as what happens on Mike's end, I am not sure how automated he has gotten with the spreadsheet input into Fargo. My guess is that he has to manually massage the spreadsheet a little bit before entering the data, but it's probably not that much work on his part or else he wouldn't do it for free. (Thanks Mike for all your hard work)

OK, your playing win or loose, winner gets 1, no split in some points,
like the 10 points available for one game, talking 8 ball?
So... in that SCORE column, as a 10 pt. scoring for 1 game,
it would be 10 in one column and then whatever the loser had scored in balls pocketed,
Like a 10 - 4 win/loss? assuming the data coming in is recognized as a 10pt scoring match..
may be a little deep, like one or 2 others here, I'm trying to understand how the knobs
and levers work.
Do appreciate telling your experience with it, thanks

Fargo should be able to input the existing matches and handicaps into their system form the old league games.

There are some situations in which we have imported old league games. But at this point We are not inviting spreadsheets of past league data. People should be getting new games in via LMS. That is the mechanism to get league games in.

No, Fargo works by games, not balls. So regardless of how many points players receive for a win or a loss, if Player A wins the game and Player B loses the game, Player A's score is 1 and Player B's score is 0.

And as Mike Page just alluded to in a recent post, FargoRate is no longer soliciting spreadsheets of old league data. I don't blame them for trying to streamline the process by requiring all league data to be entered via LMS.

It would be cool to add a feature to LMS that would allow a league operator to upload a properly formatted spreadsheet with old league data. Or perhaps data from a tournament. Being a software engineer I know this would not be difficult to do. However, being a software engineer I know that it WOULD take time to do this modification, and time is money. Just put this on my wish list... :D

… every time I add to my wish list I get a sharp pain in my backside

It's streamline down, I've overheard our league operator say " all he does is - get to the
proper team match up page, it has 50 boxes, and then fills-in the actual match scores,
then submits" I guess what happens then the cogs do their thing.

Mike,

Are you aware that the German league system tracks all league play, with full scores? Might be another source to import into Fargo. If you can get all those players Fargo rates, they might be more willing to adopt Fargorate into their national system. Germans love statistics, and any way of measuring themselves against other players.
