The broadcast included a sidebar note that Archer had won their earlier tournament match 11-2. Anyone have a report on that match? Archer breaking better, getting all the rolls? Archer came into the finals match undefeated- Any one thing make the difference? Shorter race? Too long waiting in hot seat? I'll never know. These guys play a different game than I do although its both 9-ball. Comments?

That's true, but overstated, After crushing Manalo, Hohmann got to play Archer, who narrowly escaped Szuter, for the hot seat. It was a carbon copy of the final in many ways. Archer got a roll or two late in the set, but those rolls were not the stroy. Hohmann wasted his first three breaks ,and the result was 6 - 0 Archer. Johnny cruised from there. With alternate break, 6 - 0 is an insurmountable lead, going to seven or going to eleven. Once again, at this level, you take yourself right out of it when you break poorly at this level.
