I saw firsthand, a Taiwan player, beating Danny Smith quite handily in the challenge room. He was on a team of players that had Taiwan Typhoon on their shirts. I had to assume that this player I watched was a Master player but heard through the grapevine he was the same person who won the "OPEN" event. Not sure of what his name was, otherwise I would know for sure. Wayne (can't remember last name) won the OPEN. 2nd place was also a player from Taiwan, I beleive a teammate. I'm not 100% sure if these 2 players were together, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
My question is, who monitors International players? This same thing happened a couple years ago with players from Portugal. In the USA we know who the players are and pretty much know there ability. This doesn't seem to be the case for Intl. players.
Another couple rumors I heard, these 2 players were not paid, due to them being too good for open players? If so, where did the payout go for 1st and 2nd place?
The Taiwan team was forced to play in the Advanced when it was noticed how good they placed in singles?
Can anybody chime in on this info?
