friends say i'm abrasive
I've been lurking around the sites for a few weeks and I thought maybe it was time to say hi. I live in the western suburbs of Chicago and have been playing pool for about 10 years. I recently played in the Midwest Open at Pheasant Run. Did any of rest of you play?

This will be my first, last, and only post to you because I'm somewhat afraid of you. I think that you may be the reincarnate of every woman in my past that's all rolled up into one based on your name. I can just see your avatar jumping out of the screen one day and your incisors chomping down on my jugular.  Help me Lord...save me from this crazed woman.........

Lurking is, essentially, what we all do on the forum, so you should fit right in!

completely harmless

My posting name is the same as my email, I couldn't believe no one had taken it. Trust me, I'm completely harmless, as harmless as any girl can be after hangin around with so many guys playing pool in bars and pool halls for so many years. :D
Also, many thanks to cut shot for the advice on my pool skills, I told my husband(who does not play pool) what the post said and he replied "what the h!!! is this guy talking about your grip on your butt for? And why were you grabbing it?"

The big Divorce! I think your Hubby is an ok guy but, he just dosn't understand your desire to play. Thats ok though... I think you are in good hands with him and If you would teach him to play I think he would be more understanding! ;)

We've already tried that, he likes to talk to me while I'm playing in matches, it wouldn't be a prob if he kept the conversation light. But it usually concerns bills that are due or other things I don't want distracting me during a match. He's not really interested anyway. Pool tournaments are kinda like my relatively cheap version of therapy.

You are a sweet looking honey bunch! Give that Hubby a kick in the Gonads and tell him you are going to play no matter what!

hope to meet some of you guys at a tourney some day.

p.s. is it my avatar thats to scary drivermaker or just my screenname? I could change it to the pic I have of me when I'd had little to much to drink after I got knocked out of tourney.

I'm breaking my word by posting again...see, little by little you're luring me in.
The picture is fine...it's the screenname, and one day the "moody" is going to kick in and I'll be on the receiving end of "evil"...I know it...I just know it's coming. Although there would be some on here that would say it's sweet retribution. :D

Hi,

What can we call you for short, EM1? Welcome to the board. You've been lurking and then decided to wade in? You're one courageous lady! If you like pool, you'll probably like it here, hope so anyway because we could always use new thoughts and ideas.

Jen,
Where in the Western Suburbs do you live?? I live in Aurora and I was at the Mid-West Open. It was fun eventhough I got my ass kicked!!. So where do you play at?? Myself, I play on a APA league and a weekly 9ball tournament in Downers Grove. I also have a 9-foot table in my basement. If you want to drop by and shoot some, let me know...

I played in the Midwest Open 03 & 04 (womens 9 & 8 ball) I placed in the nine ball both years, one place out of the money this year :( but it was a great time anyway. I play bca and I sub on an apa team(cause I like to go to tourneys) I much prefer the bca format, rules, tournaments and competition(the women play much better) I shoot in 9 & 8 ball tournaments at Rudy's in Aurora. Last year I shot in the Midwest Womens Tour, but due to some deaths in the family I couldn't make it to many tournaments.
Do you know Rich Mager from Aurora? He's a good friend of mine.
