That story has been told by a lot of pool players. Bugs Rucker also has a similar one about his own backer pulling a gun and warning him not to shoot a risky bank. Bugs shot it anyway.

I liked the show, don't know if it totally qualifies as documentary. Seems like a lot was left out, million dollar win, 100,000 match with Efren, stuff like that.

But it was good to see Earl get some real TV time and to explain things from his perspective. Even if I don't agree with him he definitely has ongoing passion and fire to play.

I was told by a top pro that you are not in fact allowed to turn professional until someone has pulled a gun on you.

You also have to have a nickname.
