Beloit, WI - The Carom Room - $1000+ Added - Dec 18th - "No Masters" - 8-Ball

:)

Field of 96 expanded to 128 people.... That specifically means the Carom Room is a place that puts pool players wishes first time and time again. The place simply is the place to be during tourneyment season and year round! My hats off to you, Duane, Dave and everybody else who makes this kind of tournement possible. I'll see you there tomorrow!

We tried to fill it up but only got 124

Around $7,500 in the calcutta for a total payout of $12,500 for the weekend

Paying out 32 in the tourney in the spirit of Xmas and 12 in the calcutta.

Great turnout guys! Any chance of opening it up to a bigger field for nineball?

Not a chance!! We have tried and learned our lessons on number of matches completed. The absolute max will be 96 players in the future for regular or finals events. Get your money in early is all I can say...

I do really appreciate the players who did show up and worked with us during this XL xmas event.

More tourney info coming tomorrow afternoon!

With that many players and only 14 tables we did mange to narrow the field down but not as much as we would have liked. A few players had to win matches on Sunday morning to make any cash. That's why we will go back to 96 maximum.

Paying 32 in the tourney and 12 in the calcutta. Complete player lists, payouts and results will be posted on the Carom Rom website by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

Here's a quick preview of the final 16:

16. Shane Minihan
15. Alex Fenili
14. John Ribbich
13. Kyle Logan
12. Jon Ola
11. Jeremy West
10. Nick Marsolek
9. Donny Bailey
8. Rick Karsten
7. Mike Doll
6. Jose Rivas Jr
5. Alan Frederich
4. Greg Chavera
3. Jason Jick
2. Justin Peralez
1. Dennis Babcock

Good job!

:eek:Its tough to run a tournament of that size in 2 days with only 14 tables.

I think its wise to limit it normally to 96, to ensure that those coming back on Sunday are "in the Cash".

The only other option I could see, would be to start the Calcutta at 10 and start matches at noon. Problem with that is there are always a handful of people making a 4-5 hour drive to get there.

Either way, know that you guys are running the best monthly tournaments in the Midwest (maybe the country).

Wow

Real shocker there that Dennis Babcock won this event. I am really surprised he is not considered a Master rating. Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of strong players in these "No Masters" events...I am thinking that by far, Dennis was the favorite to win it.

It was one big Xmas blowout tourney. We tried to be extra nice to everyone by extending the field and giving new players the chance to play. I hope most had a good time and enjoyed the Carom Room & tourney.

Please be forewarned!! All fields will be limited to the first 96 for the rest of this season. If multiple late entries entry come in the mail together to fill a smaller number of spots a random drawing will take place. Please mail your entries early!!!

Any players moving onto the masters list like Matt Daiber & Dennis Babcock so far this year will still be allowed to play in the "finals" for this season. From then on only "open" events.

We did manage to finish by 8:45 pm which I felt was early ;)

Congratulations to all the top finishers as they really earned it

Wish I would have been able to make it. But I'll see you guys next month. Have a safe and happy holiday season.
John
