Hello,

I'm shopping for a cue and i thought i had my choice (Bender or Capone), but now i'm starting to hear a little about Lambros...

If you have either of these cues or have hit with both can you give me your opinion?

My cue history:
Cokers - Liked the way some hit, didn't like some.
Southwest - Little too stiff.
Pechauer - Nice hit.
McDaniel (ivory joint) - Nice hit, little too soft.
Gilbert - Very nice hit.

thanks,

Lambros makes a nice cue. However, I'd go with the Bender. I love the hit and feel of mine.

Ok, I'm waiting for someone to recommend his favorite cue on sale now on Ebay.
Come on, step right in.
"I really hate to part with this cue because it hits great. But, I just......?"

I have played with a Lambros for 3 years, and I will never play with anything else. I may buy another one as an insurance policy.

I had a Bender for several years. Loved it. Very stiff hit. I felt it was very similar to a Southwest but with more feel. I also liked the chngeable weight system. I have hit with a few that were actually too stiff though. Be choosy.

Lambros

i have a lambros snaaky pete and a high end custom, both play great, i recomend his ultra joint, has a great feel to it.

Well out of the 3 if I was playing for money and wanted a cue that always hit the same and had a great hit I'd have to go with the Lambros. Not to degrade any of the cues.I just think Mike is a perfectionist when it comes to playability in a cue.Makes some perty ones too .People usually keep their Lambros cues.Dont see many for sale in the USA.Think the Asians buy him all out of stock all the time. They are also very paticular when it comes to good cues.Try lambros

WOW, i'm impressed with all the Lambros players. I have always loved the look of his cues, but i've never had the opportunity to play with one. I'll have to find a way to play with one before i decide which cue to purchase. I was always kind of wondering way if Lambros cues were so great how come i don't see more of his cues? Price too high? Japan have them all? Hipe? People don't want to part ways with them? My biggest issue with Bender is the balance point, i have heard they come in at 20 to 21 inches from the butt? Can anyone tell me what the balance point is of their lambros cues? Thanks for all the help, i have found AZB to be a great place for info. I asked about tips, and everyone was right, Morri Medium is the great!!

I've owned one Lambros cue and a Bender cue and I'd go with a Bender if I had to choose between those two cue makers. The Lambros cue I had came with the ultra-joint and I didn't like it. My shafts would loosen after I made 6 to 10 shots and I was constantly checking my shaft for tightness. This may have been just a flaw with my particular cue though. I don't own either of those cues now. This is just my opinion based on the two cues I owned and played with.
I agree with your Gilbert cue opinion. I have a Gilbert cue that i'm very pleased with. My regular playing cue is a Hoppe style Paul Mottey with a predator shaft and I'm thinking about getting Andy Gilbert to make me a predator shaft to match my Gilbert cue (3/8x10 joint and the trim rings to match). Since i've started playing with the Mottey cue with the predator shaft it's hard to switch back to a cue with a regular shaft because of the aiming system I use and the difference in deflection and that's the only reason i don't play with my Gilbert cue more often.

I too will be playing with predator shafts. Interesting about the joint coming loose... Thanks,

Yeh, no shit...isn't it amazing how many of these "great cues and best cuemaker" threads that tout how wonderful and fantastic everything is to get the salivary glands drooling follows up with a "for sale" either here on AZ or Ebay. LMAO

I think you need to hit with one. I'm thinking if the Southwest was too stiff for you, then the Lambros is the choice.

That being said, is there a reason why you wouldn't just get a cue from Pechauer or Gilbert (based on your list)?

Why dodn't i have Pechauer or Gilbert build me a cue? Good question. Answer: I'm after a really nice 16 to 20 point cue (spliced with veneers). Most all Pechauer cues i've seen are cnc'd. I have Q $ A's Pechauer about prices and they are high, for the same cash i can get a one of these other cues. And if you got to choose between a bender or a Pechauer i'm sure there is really no choice. I had Gilbert build me a one of a kind cue once, and the points where awesome, but there were other things i'd rather not talk about with the cue and i don't want to fork out $3000 and worry, hope you know what i mean. I've thought about calling him again, but scared.

So that brings be to bender and lambros. I like how they do their points, and i want this cue to have the best points in the world.

Thanks,

GO with the bender they hitt good and keep there value pretty good.

Lambros...period! I remember trying one of his cues in Valley Forge 2000, and I haven't felt anything like it since. For me, the closest thing that comes to it is a wood to wood joint and that's pushing it. I WILL own a Lambros eventually, because to me, that ultra-joint of his is the best feeling I have tried as of yet. I haven't hit a Bender so I can't comment on that; however, a lot of people like the way Bender's cues feel. One thing I should note, unless you could care less about looks, Mike's cues are nice looking, but compared to other cuemakers, his strong point is the playablility of his cues. Just my two cents.

bender

bender is the choice for me
You can't go wrong with a Bender.
