Bergman vs Mora for 50k who ya like!

I wonder why is it that so many people spell his name Orcullo? I always thought the correct spelling of his name has been Orcollo. Sorry for the off topic question.

Why does this discussion include players that relocated here from Europe or Asia?

When it comes time for the Mosconi Cup or World Cup of pool, none of them can be chosen for the US team. So, they should not be included.

Sorry, this has gone way off the original topic.

Orcullo is how Dennis spells his name. I got an autograph from him after a lesson and that's how he spelled it. I think in another thread I read that somebody started spelling it incorrectly when he came to the states and he never bothered to correct people

I hope you don't play the horses:D. IMO there are quite a few listed there Morra would beat in a race to 100 by quite a few games.

I just think his game is trash. Especially if he's on a shot clock. Whenever he's on a live stream I just turn it off and return several hrs. later. Nice guy though. He'd probably beat some of the older guys a race to 100 but i doubt he'd beat them consistenly in a race to 15-21

Well how good do you play to think his game is trash????? Can you run a rack? Lol

Let me rephrase that. I think his game is trash compared to the top tier pros...I'm an A player I can run out obviously. It's not that hard to plan out several shots ahead and stay in line.

Morra

Our own Justin Bergman has called out John Mora for a race to 50 for $50k - 10, 8, or 9 ball on the spot. Wants to play in Marks new room in Vegas anytime. Picks?

Because he should have been chosen over Justin to play in the Mosconi Cup. :boring2::confused::eek:

Oh, okay. So the correct spelling is Orcullo. I have heard it pronounced both ways many times in the past, but I never seen his name spelled Orcullo on tournament boards for example.

Maybe you just have personal reasons for not liking him (like maybe you do not like how he walks around the pool table, or maybe you think he is a very slow player), but the fact is that he is a very solid player. How can you call his game trash? I do not know all of his accomplishments (but I am sure it is a very long list of championship titles), but I just finished watching his finals match in last years China Open, and he had a pretty close match against Albin Ouschan (losing 11-08), but he never gave up, and stayed right with Albin (after Albin got off to an early lead) the entire match. It just amazes me that you think his game is trash. He has proven himself to be a world class player (and a Champion), I think. I love his slow and controlled style of playing, by the way, and I do not think he is that slow of a player. I am sure that he could handle playing with a shot clock just fine. I do not think that most of his shots take longer then 30 seconds (on average).

Maybe he's improved and sped up his play. For a while there took longer to shoot than Mike "take too long" Wong, if you can believe that....

I haven't watched him play on livestream for a couple of years because I cant stand watching slow a** players...

I find it very interesting that people who had to put up with Johnny Archer for decades are now moaning and whining about Morra. Then again, Archer is not Canadian.

Bergman is "fearless" and full of cocky swag, but yet again asks for the 9 ball to be spotted there, the 10 ball there, he wants a shot clock and not to go to the toilet at all. I know well these "players" and what they're full of.

Total BS he's never played anyway near as slow as Wong

For true.

The only slow bit with Morra's game is he takes a million warm up strokes. Wong on the other hand, takes years to make the simplest decision, and then gets up and down off the shot multiple times.

And at least Morra is a good player.

His name is Orcullo (pronounced or COOL yo), but his passport is incorrectly spelled Orcollo (if it existed would pronounced something like or COLE yo). But it's Orcullo. I suppose he MUST compete as Orcollo in the States due to his government docs.

John accepted the challenge and wants to play 10-ball, race to 100.

Some people took it as "Justin being rude or angry" but I know that's not how he meant it and is one of the most respectful players in the sport. As he-himself said - he respects John's game and that's why he wants to play.

It's a lot of money and should be a very exciting, interesting match.

John dint accept the challenge, he modified the game

Nope, can't believe it. Mike is a good guy and excellent player, but even his racking can be considered a human rain delay.

He is not that slow of a player, and you do not need to watch a live stream with him playing in it to see that. I watched this 2015 match last night,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBaNxJTFHMo

I would guess maybe an average of 25 seconds seconds per shot (maybe less). He takes his time (yes), but he is not that slow of a player (very far from as slow as Mike Wong, from what I have seen from his playing on youtube, for example). I understand that in pool, a player who takes 45 seconds (for example) to shoot a shot, seems like a very slow player. Even 30 seconds per shot seems kind of slow. I would put Morra in the 30 second (on average) category.
