Lately I was able to watch a couple tapes of Berts and he mentions teaching a few Pro level players.

Does anyone know of any top players that Bert has helped while they were
coming up or now?
Anyone here ever gotten lessons from him.
My plan is to oneday take some lessons from Randy G in texas but
getting laid off from work really hampered that plan for now.

Just curious about Bert. I like the tapes and he seems like a good guy as well.

Neils & Danny Basavich. There are a couple of WPBA players that he told me he coached also but I don't remember who it was. It was about 3 yrs ago when he told me. He's part owner of a pool room here and there's tons of pics & articles on the walls. There's a big write up about him & Danny B that's on the wall. I didn't know it was Danny B until I read the story... This was back when Danny B couldn't have weighed much over 150 lbs.

yes Neils is one..i have had Bert been over to my house for lessons and will have in the future when our schedules agree..i have had instructors in the past for other various fields..Bert is one of the Finest ...when he teaches he just doesn't tell you to do something but thourghly explains why.he was a college professor for several years.he has a way to explain complex ideas into basic understanding terms for anyone to learn..man can he play too...highly recommended..check out his web site. www.bertkinister.com

If you went to his website you might have read this:

Champions who have had private lessons with Bert: Neils Feijen, Tony Robles, Danny Basavitch, Judy Anamasaris former Seniors Open winner, Orietta Strickland one of the top players in the Hunter Tour, Roland Acosta former Pan American champion, Aaron Franken the current Pan American champion.

I have had lessons with Bert and in one four hour lesson I was shooting better than ever before. the straight in shot is now one that I can depend on making no matter what the distance is. It used to be my toughest shot and now it is my bread and butter. The drills he gives you to work on until your next lesson are always helping your everyday games. During most shots in most games, I will look at the shot and say to myself, "oh I know this shot, it's the (Blankety Blank) Drill from Bert. It is amazing how that will boost your confidence on a shot you might have used to pass up even though you know that is the shot you should be shooting.

Just my opinion.

You hit the nail on the head. Just from the tapes I was faced with a runout that looked like the six pointed star. My opponent was getting consoled at the time with someone telling him, "It's alright it's a tough out from here."

I felt like blurting out, "I know this one! Comes up all the time in my drills!"

P.S. I got out.

His poolroom just closed last week but the good news is its to reopen next month with new owners and with Diamonds!
Just to let everyone know Bert had nothing to do with its closing just a bad choice of management.

When Bert left town, I quit going. I couldn't stand it!

That's awesome that it's going to re-open with DIAMONDS!!! I'm TOTALLY psyched about this! I just interviewed today for a job that's not far from there....the interview went pretty good.. I've got a 2nd interview on Thur... Working a few miles from a new pool room with DIAMONDS.... AWESOME!!! :D Do you know who the owners are? You can PM me if you'd rather not say on here. Thanks for the info!!

Are you going to be in Carlisle this wkend??

Yeah I'll be their c-ya saturday...Should be some ACTION:)

Chuck Sampson and his father are in line to reopen it.Chuck worked their and wasn't a bad shot but he will get awhole lot better on Diamonds...Like you said AWESOME!!!!!!

This is just too cool! Since I've moved here, I've been so envious of people that lived in places with nice pool rooms that had Diamond tables. I never dreamed we would have some here.... you just made my night, my week, my month..... LOL, I'm so excited!!

I don't recognize the name... I might know him by sight. See ya Saturday!

I am not a student of Bert but I have 54 tapes. They have help me tremendously. My straight in shots and stroke have improved greatly. Everyone comments on the smooth stroke that I have. There are some tapes that he will later say has bad info or advice but for the most part they are well worth the money. All of the drills and shots that he demonstrates will make the game a lot easier for you.

Best of luck - we know you'll knock 'em dead! With you working a new job, are you going to have time to keep up with this forum? I'm a retired geezer with no life and I can't keep up. Anyway, we're pulling for you.
