He was a great instructor and charged accordingly, sold thousands of tapes, sold his own line of cues (Widowmaker by Greg Hearns
That is cool as hell! I would love to hear some stories about that.

Were the widow maker curs awesome? How did they compare to other cues of the day, I guess namely Meucci would have been the top name right?

Meucci for sure, Joss and/or Joss West and Schon were big back then.

I’m still just a hack, but after doing that 60 minute workout I did get a ball better. I still use it as a basis for my practice on many days even if the shots aren’t the same…

… one thing beat into my brain was -playing to or through the center of the table. I can hear him saying, “It’s a no scratch line.”
He did a few called Angles and Speed. It involved doing races against the ghost shooting the same pattern of 9 balls over and over. There was a begginer, intermediate and advanced. That and the star vids were my favorites.

Here are 3 of mine. I designed the middle cue to be plain for league play.
The bottom one is 60".
I have another 60" that has the built-in extension you see Bert use in some of his videos.
I felt they played better than most customs back in the day. Not quite as firm as a SW, but much more firm than the old HOF#7 Meucci I had back then.
After the plain cue got damaged by a clumsy yahoo at the pool hall I switched to an off-the-shelf CF Cuetec.
These cues just hang in the closet now.
I don't remember who made the cases for him but they were all nice tooled leather cases.

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ping.
Some pool players are predators and some are warriors. Ya know the difference between a predator and a warrior is a predator hunts food ya know and a warrior hunts men. Be a warrior. Whatever happens don't be the food. Don't be the food. Be a predator and be a warrior, don't be dinner kids.
