Best 2025 US Open Match

Yup, that one was a dandy featuring some inspiring play. Thanks for sharing.

Oddly enough, it probably wasn't even the best Michael Baoanan match of the 2025 US Open 9ball, as his quarterfinal with Gorst is firmly in the discussion for 2025 match of the year.

I found it pleasing just hearing the two men, pocket balls.
They both hit ''through the shot'' very good. Always enjoy hearing the ball slap the back of the pocket, w/o any roll on it, like Sigel. I've always said, you could blind fold me, walk me into a pool room with 50 tables, and if Mike was shootin' I could easily spot that ''sound''.

If you go to 13:20.
My favorite shot/Sound of the Match the 4 ball upper r/h corner.

17 minute mark the 3 ball combo, not something one sees very often.

Atencio should of won but he made a few bad decisions with easy shots.
He'd run out perfect, But twice he had the perfect Natural rolling cut angle to win and hung it'''''.
He let up, saved a little energy enjoyed his perfect shape tooooooooooooo much.... he relaxed. Bad move. cost em the match.

Yeah, that triple combo was impressive.

Atencio lost the double hill thriller to Morra at the Florida Open, too. He is knocking on the door for a breakthrough performance soon.

No doubt that Baoanan made a name for himself at the US Open 9ball this year.

Atencio keeps finding a way to lose. He needs to keep it together, and not have off moments like he seems to have in every big match.

If I were betting man, I still like his chances to break out.

Could go either way, though. He'll either get that one big win soon, and keep rising from there, or settle into being an "almost" player. Seen it all too many times in all sports.

Agreed 100%. Not every super-talented player that suffers from inconsistency gets there, and we'll have to see whether Atencio is able to get to the next level. Wishing him well.

I think it's just mental now.
He must learn to Never let up on Any shot.
Relaxing and shooting a shot 97%.... ain't gonna get it with 4'' pockets.
