Best all-in-one tip tool out there...

THE BEST TIPS ARE - (IMHO)
The VERY BEST tip comes from a 2.3 ton Rhino. I like to use the fore-skin (leather) from a recently circumcised male Rhino.
It is the VERY BEST tip material for cues - BUT - they are very expensive.
The leather from this circumcised Rhino isn't that costly to make - BUT - the African Natives that harvest them want to charge a fortune.
I do have 3 that I can let go of - BUT - I would have to charge you $2,600 apiece because the tribe that has been getting them for me is running short on them.
Not the Rhinos - The Natives!

Do you actually get down there and inspect the genitalia up close to determine if it is "tip quality" before removal? If not, I would have a hard time taking a recommendation from you regarding a rhino's "material". But out of good faith, I am trying to come up with the 2600 because i know I am not getting the best out of my J&J sneaky with the iguana scrotum tip I am currently using.

For me as far as tips go, I was using a Moori medium for the longest time. I liked them but then Skippy gave me a talisman to try out and now I swear by these tips. I have so much more confidence in cueing now just cause i get so much action on the ball and hardly ever miscue. Also, I almost never shape or have to fix my tip from mushrooming.

As far as tip tools? If you get a talisman, you will hardly ever need it. But just in case you do, I would suggest that black curved metal tool that you can put sandpaper into. It shapes and scuffs really well. If you want to fix the mushrooming, I just dampen the sides with saliva and then burnish it on one of the clothes on the rails of a pool table.

I agree the Ultimate Tip Tool, You can get the dime/nickel radius, fix the mushroom, burnish, scuff, all in one tool. Cole 'TheConArtist

I have never heard of a Iguana Scrotum Tip but I haven't been looking either. I would love to try one if you would consider an "Even Trade". After all - My Rhino's are sore for a little while - BUT I'll bet your Iguana's are pretty Pissed Off for quite some time.

My tips are made from the skin of the Western Horned Lizard, known also as a Horney Toad - with all of its little points and bumps.

And you'd better watch out. When pissed off, the little but handsome reptilian devil squirts blood from its eye sockets.

I agree, I've used Talisman hard tips on all the cues I've built for the last five or six years or so and I love them. I put a Moori med. on my playing cue about 7 or 8 months ago and the initial feeling was that it played much better than the Talisman. However this only lasted for about three hours of play and then the Moori changed on me. It mushroomed, only slightly, but the Talisman don't mushroom at all, it flattened out a little where once again Talisman keep their shape and I miscue a little where as with the Talisman a miscue is almost unheard of. Moori is a great tip but I feel that Talisman is better.
In the early to mid nineties when a number of companies were bringing out layered tips to compete with Moori I had a lot of trouble keeping them from delaminating. After trying 5 or 6 brands I finally gave up and only offered Moori's as a layered tip. When Talisman first got started they sent a few samples to different cue builders to try out. I tried and I was convinced. Now in the years that have passed I am sure other tip makers have figuired out a proccess for keeping their tips together but I haven't ventured out and tested them as now there are so many different brands and I'm happy with what I'm offering.
Lately I've been having trouble with the Talisman tips delaminating and I contacted Tony Jones about the problem. He contacted me this past week and said that after a number of tests that they tracked the problem down to a humidity gauge in the drying room. Apparently the glue was not completely dry when the sealer was put on and once that happened they couldn't properly dry. He assured me that the problem has been corrected and all tips being shipped now will have no problems.

Glad to hear it. I thought you were gonna write that the talisman company had to cut back on some material costs and that's how they were gonna be from now on.

I don't know if I can scratch up another batch of tip fixins. I am sure your rhinos are hung like a, uh rhino, but when is the last time you saw a sack on a lizard. Pickins are slim friend, pickins are slim. .
